The latest on soy?
I must be missing something. I know soy has benefits but there is new evidence it's not as good for you as they thought. Thyroid issues? What's the low-down? I do use some soy milk, tofu, etc. but try not to have it more than once a week.

As far as soy, the only truly friendly ones are fermented, like tempeh, miso, and natto. I think most soy sauces are fermented too, so they're OK.
The fermentation breaks down phytytes, which bind to our minerals, like iodine (thyroid). I have no idea what effect the fermentation has on soy's estrogen-like qualities.

Thanks! I have some tempeh in the fridge right now...making kung pao tonight with it. I'm passing those links on to my mom who has been using soy (though trying not to use it too much).
