I did not have any fatigue. I am amazed at what this has done to my body. I also just started eating for my blood type. I read alfalfa sprouts were bad for O"s so I knocked that out too. This iodine thing has been a salvation for me but I suspect that it might only help the O Blood types. Has anyone else tried it with success that is another blood type? Is anyone else having the success that I am? Debbie

HI,
I have a couple questions. I have been using the Iodine from Wellness Resources on my skin. I have been using more than 1 drop, maybe 2 0r 4. Should I switch Iodine brands? Also, can I also take kelp capsules and L-tyrosine for thyroid balance or is this too much?
Thanks
Tracey

I switched to the Iodoral, recommended by Brownstein. I take 1/2 of a pill every morning-that is less than the Japanese consume every day. I just wanted to make sure I did not overdose. Debbie

If you want iodine, the absolute best way to get it is from an iodine-containing food like seaweed. There is some research that indicates natural plant iodine is absorbed differently than isolated chemical iodine. The best source of iodine is Seaweed (or 'sea vegetable' as some clever marketers like to call it). Besides the iodine content, it is a truly amazing and nutritious food. Because it grows in the ocean, seaweed does not suffer from the mineral limitations of our worn-out soil (U.S. Senate Document #264), and contains all known oceanic trace minerals. Seaweed also contains a known anti-cancer compound called fucoidan, lots of fiber, enzymes, Omega fatty acids, polysaccharides, etc. Such a nutritious food is certainly preferable to popping vitamin pills, since all its nutrients are easily absorbed by the body. But personally, I do have 2 negative issues with seaweed: 1) the taste, and 2) the smell! That's why I'm a big fan of seaweed capsules. But I'm not impressed with Sea Vegg. If you look at their capsules, you see immediately that they are a dead brown color. It almost looks like someone just filled the capsules with dirt. Plus, their label is ridiculous. Every other ingredient is misspelled, and some of their claims (like “80 trace minerals”) are exaggerated. I take a product called Living Sea, which is made by iGem Health. They claim to have the freshest seaweed capsules, and they're not joking; their product is a beautiful dark green color, and get this -- I opened a capsule and poured the powder into a glass of water, and after a few minutes, there were actually large pieces of fresh-looking seaweed leaf floating in the glass! Seriously, it looked like it was still alive, like I had just pulled it out of the ocean. I don't know what kind of process they use to preserve this stuff, but that really impressed me. I'm going to write to them and tell them they should do my experiment and put it up on their website (www.igemhealth.com). Anyway, I've been taking their product for a couple months, and I definitely feel better. I had dry skin on my face which cleared up, and so did my constipation. So I'm already saving money on moisturizer and laxatives.
Hopefully I'll see more benefits as time goes on. But if you are using Sea Vegg or something else and that's working for you, that's great, and I wish everyone the best of luck (and health)!

Thank you rgreenman. I just checked out Living Sea and it looks pretty good. I'm with you on the smell and the taste for the most part!! I do use aramame(sp?) in our salads (when I remember)and really don't taste anything. I then use the water I soaked it in to water my plants and they love it!
Does this eliminate the need for other supplementation?

Actually, kelp, or seaweed is not the BEST source of iodine - our oceans are polluted and it is unknown how many (bad) chemicals are also in with our seaweed. If you truly want pure and clean iodine supplementation, Lugol's iodine or Iadoral is your best bet.
For anyone looking to learn more about iodine supplementation, curezone now has an iodine support forum: http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=815
Good luck!

Regreeman,
That's funny that you mentioned Fucodian. I just started taking a product called Original Limu which has the Fucodian. How about the Sea Silver and Body Balance, do these contain this?

Is there a preference over the Lugol's or the Iodoral?
Life is just a bowl of cherries. Don't take it serious, Life's too mysterious...

Lugol's and Iadoral are basically the same thing, Lugol's is liquid and Iadoral a pill. Iadoral is supposed to be easier on your stomach.

In response to the following:

Unfortunately, pollution is a concern no matter where you are on the planet. Of course we would want to consume seaweed or seaweed products only from clean waters. Seaweed naturally leaches toxins, especially heavy metals, which is why it is often recommended for chelation therapy. Regular consumption of a clean, high-quality brown seaweed will reduce toxins in the body, not add to them.
Concerning the iodine products, Lugol's iodine (also known as IKI or Iodine Potassium-Iodide) is a liquid solution containing iodine and potassium iodide. Iodoral (not 'Iadoral') is an elemental iodine supplement in a hard tablet. These products offer isolated chemical iodine in a processed, refined pharmaceutical form. If this is what you need to reverse an acute iodine deficiency, go for it. After you're cured, in the long term, you still can't do better than natural plant iodine in situ with the entire spectrum of trace minerals.
