    Default The next level?

    Howdy all!

I'm wanting to take my workout up a notch. I've been doing B/R, and I'm wondering which one to order next. Should I go with regular Temp or Tempo Int? Or maybe HTF or Tempo Torso? I love B/R (still challenging but would like it to move a little quicker) but I don't want to get bored with the same exercises over and over. I do have TLB but thus far have only tried the standing part--not sure I'm ready for the TLB floor work yet.

Would I get good benefits for the rest of my lower body with HTF or Tempo Torso? Anyone have advice?

Yes on Tempo, no on Intermediate.

Tempo regular would be the next level of progression, where Intermediate is more advanced than that. So that follows logic.

I think Tempo would be great for you....and then you can view the second portion of TLB and see what you think of it. Give it a watch and maybe try a move or two.

    Take care,

Thanks Ging...I was thinking regular Tempo, but aprehensive that it wouldn't really be a step up. But Ginger knows all. [^]

LOLOLOl! Ginger sooooooo does NOT know all.

Tempo is a definite step up from B/R. It's 40 minutes compared to 55 minutes on B/R. Less breaks, and the exercises run together seamlessly as there's no instruction. You certainly get form tips, though, Miss T would never short us on those.

    Hi there!

Just to be clear, it looks like you are trying to see what tape would be best to purchase next. I agree Tempo would be a good choice...

However, to truly, truly, take ttapp to the 'next level' entails more than buying a new tape! Theoretically, you could take ttapp to a new level constantly staying with the same tape (b/r)! In fact, sometimes moving to a 'faster' tape could actually take you down a step since your form could suffer. I am in no way discouraging you from buying new tapes (I always do and enjoy the variety and new challenges they offer!).

Ttapp is progressive in nature. In other words, you could simply do eight reps the rest of your life, but your body will respond to it differently as you improve your form. It blows my mind, but there is ALWAYS a way to progress with your form and your "personal max" is always changing as well. (Hint: if the move seems too easy, you aren't doing it to your personal max!)

Remember: Form, form, form! I know that sounds silly to so many people, but really thats what counts when it comes to ttapping! Its not how fast you go, how many reps you do, its HOW you do the moves.

Please take the time to break down the moves and really concentrate on what you are doing. Of course you need a mirror to be sure you look the way you think you are supposed to look! How else would one know? (Yes, a mirror is a must in my book! LOL!)

I'm sorry if I thru you off with this angle, but its something that must be understood and absorbed!

I want you to become a ttapp success story! Stick with the forums and read, read, read all you can. Its worth it...

    Take care and happy Ttapping!

Thanks for the hints. I know you're right, and I always strive for my personal max--even though I know perfection is a long way off! Every once in a while you just get those moments where you "get it."

    Meredith -

There are several things you can do to take yourself to the next level:

Like Diane suggested - use a mirror to help you correct your form

pause the tape and do the move at your speed - SLOWLY so that you build more neuro kinetic awareness and really feel your muscles engaged during the movement

Utilize FULL EXTENSION, FULL ENGAGEMENT on each and every move - that means that you REACH as far as you can and EXTEND your Arms like someone is pulling you. Full engagement means that you actively engage as many muscles as you can on each and every move - lats, shoulders, arms, core, ab, butt, hips, legs, etc. Whew - T-Tapp is SO comprehensive.

Read up on the Form tips any move that you don't "get" fully. Truly - if the move is easy - - YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING INCORRECTLY

    Best of luck to you!
