I just love it when someone asks for motivation--because I myself get motivated all over again just reading everyone's words of encouragement for a fellow tapper.

You all are great! This is my second go-round with T-tapp, and I've had great results both times. However, I have a feeling that this time I will make it a life change, simply because of the support of the wonderful forum here.

So, Olerica--just keep reaching out. There's always someone here just waiting to encourage you. You can do it!

    Olerica,
I too am undisciplined, just mostly lazy I think. I've never been able to stick with anything(at least for the past 5-6 years)and really don't like exercising. I used to be thin when younger and didn't have to worry about it, although I was a lot more active then. It seems like I can never get motivated, even with this forum which I come to almost everyday. I really want it bad, but nothing ever changes. I kept it up for 3 weeks once and went down a size, but quit and gained it all back. I'm telling myself now that I will start a 4 day bootcamp Monday and if I feel like it, I'll make it longer. I wish I had a buddy to tapp with. I think that would keep me going, but can't think of anyone. I would really prefer to do it by myself, but don't think I have the self discipline. I have plenty of time in my schedule, so that's not a problem...just no motivation. I know how you feel....good luck!

    Chris & Dawn,
It is so good to hear that I am not alone. That the overwhelming feeling of non-movement feels so much better than the intellectual/emotional mountain climb it takes for me to get off of my bum and get going. Chris, you said it so very well when you said that it was safer to be fat. I feel that.

Perhaps I'm using this as a bit of therapy, so do forgive, but I've been really pondering what it is that I'm trying to protect myself from... because I don't think it's JUST my current/recent situation. I think I've got it worked out, but now.... now I have to realize that I need to "get over it".

To all of the other wonderful women who have posted. I will take your suggestions and give it a go. Today, I confess was another day of inactivity... but I've got my alarm set for tomorrow... even though it is Sunday.

    Thank you all again.

    Olerica

It's so easy to procrastinate working out - haven't we all done it?! Here's my little secret...if I know that that I plan to get my workout done in the morning - first thing when I wake up I put on my workout clothes, even if I don't plan to workout out for two hours (clothes that are specifically for working out, not just something comfy). When I'm wearing my workout clothes it is a constant reminder that I promised myself I was going workout. If I plan to workout in the evening, I put my w/o clothes on before I start the bedtime routine with the kiddos, otherwise once that is done it's just all too easy to plop down in front of the tv. Try it and see if this helps.

    Olerica,

Check in with the forum tomorrow and if you wake up and feel afraid to Tapp or afraid to start, come here and read for a bit. Remember, even if you just start with PBS, you're moving. It gets easier.

And you (and I, and everyone else here)DESERVE to be fit and healthy.[:X] Don't be afraid. You're an adult now and you have the smarts to protect yourself. We don't need no stinking fat anymore!

    Hi

I can totally relate to what you are going through. I made ttapp my homepage on my computer so, it is right there in front of me like a constant reminder.
I have been on and off the whole ttapp wagon more times than I really care to admit. I am happier now and I only do what 'I can'. I was letting myself become overwhelmed by not being able to do a 14 day b/c or I couldn't do things as well as this person or that person or I couldn't keep up etc. etc. Truth of the matter is, I had to learn how to do things that best suited me and if that meant only doing PBS and HD's ... great ... at least I did PBS and HD's which was a whole lot better for me than doing absolutely nothing at all.

Do what 'you can' ... and when you feel a bit better or stronger add another move or push yourself a bit more. Teresa has only made the program, now we all have to make it ours in order to do it, stick with it and succeed.

I would LOVE to sign up for Ginger's daily butt kick email ... I think that would be 'really' helpful.

I think the forum is key for support and encouragement ... it is filled with amazing and knowledgeable people.

Ginger always used to say to me ... just do what you can, a little is better than nothing, yes you can and do your MORE series. Smart cookie that one ...

Pop in the MORE dvds and do what you can ... we are all rooting for you ... in the wise words of a friend ... 'just do what you can, a little is better than nothing and you can do this'.

Here is a "routine" that I used (and still use)...I do the "coffee brew" workout. I have a very old coffee maker that I start immediately upon getting out of bed. While my coffee is brewing...I can squeeze in PBS...Plies (about 3 to 4 reps only)....the reach and scoop...the box..and TTT. It's a mini tape 1...half the reps....it worked (and still does) for me. I also incorporate "mini" WO's while I wait for anything....files at work to download?...do a TTT, sitting on the chair. Commercial during your favorite show?....PBS. Soft boiled eggs?....HD's. Cooking up mushrooms and onions?...try a "mini" arm WO!

TTAPPing needs to be incorporated in one's life consistently. Whether it be by BC followed by EOD or EOD with no BC or "coffee brews"....

PBS and HD's everyday...what's that?...two five minute periods out of one's life?...will make a tremendous difference.

    just gotta ttapp...less is more.

I edited to add one more item....if HF's is what you need, do it. If the other groups motivate you...do it. The bottom line is...for whatever you choose...YOU HAVE TO DO THE TTAPPING. Life itself will alter what motivation you need....the forums can motivate for sure but the forums can not TTAPP for you. Do it.

Quick question....how many minutes are you spending on the forums? Compare that to how many minutes you spend TTAPPING. That was an eye opener to me!!!!

This week I've done 3 work outs. Something someone said that hit home and I did a few days of thinking about it.... Maybe I don't think I'm worth it enough to be fit.

I AM worth being fit. I'm worth being organized. We all are.

They talk about the A-HA! moment. I've had mine. I am tired of living this way and know that I can change it. I have the power. I CAN DO IT!
