Default Regal Tappers 4 April - 10 April [attn MORE ladies

I am starting this for 1-Newbies, 2-MORE gals [specifically the More to Lose], and 3-anyone that need some encouragement to actually put the tapes in and DO them.

I have seen several post lately with ladies that are so discouraged or overwhelmed because of having a lot to lose and the physical limitations that come with it. This program works but you do have to do it. I understand the fear/apprehension. So I decided to be a cheerleader for us.

I picked the name Regal Tappers because it sounds better than Queen size, and it sounds positive. OUR MOTTO IS CUT REPS!

The first rule it that everyone has to have a POSITIVE nickname/screenname. In preemie wards they give all of the babies strong names like Hercules and Xena so that they have positive energy to get stronger and healthier. If your imagination is taxed just put Queen or Princess in front of your name. [did you see "the Ya-Ya Sisterhood"? Great nicknames]

2nd Rule-You have to say something positive about yourself in your posts-even if it is the same every time. It doesn't have to be physical, it can be "I am a good listener and my friends can count on me", but if you can say something positive it helps put a good spin on the day.

3rd-Encourage someone else by name. What goes around comes around.

4th-No one but you will know if you do this but do one nice thing for yourself a day. This does not mean treating yourself to a pint of Ben & Jerry's. Do your nails, put on some lipstick, brush your body etc.

Rule 5-(but it should probably #2)-Measurements once a week, Scales once a Month.

    Good Afternoon Regals,

I just got back from my massage and noticed we hadn't come alive for this week! I did BWO before seeing my massage therapist and I feel like a ton of stuff has been stirred up in my body. I did my bodybrushing, too.

    Hope everybody is okay.

My positive is that I made the time to workout this morning.

    Hello, Regals!

I am not feeling the greatest today for a couple of reasons which I won't go into, but all in all, it has been a good day. I was able to accomplish a lot at work which always makes me feel good and useful. Tonight I am working out with my niece and we are doing the MORE instructionalo for the first time. I am confident that we will make it through!

My positive: I am enjoying the weather today even though I am not feeling well...

Charity, you reminded me that I NEED to go get another massage! I'm glad you enjoyed yours, even if it DID stir up some stuff!

    Have a great evening, all!!!

    Take care,
    Andrea

Just a quick one because I have got to figure out dinner.

    Hi Charity -
Thank for for reminding me about massage. That sounds great. And thanks for putting up this week's thread. Great job on the workout and the brushing.

    Hey Andrea....
Glad to see you post even though you might be blue. I hope everything works out for you. Enjoy the workout tonight with your niece.

Positive: My More stuff arrived today and I did a couple sections of it.
WOW! It was intense but I think I will be able to keep up with this.
I did PBS, Plies, Lunges, and a teeny bit of Hoe Downs.
    Take care all,
    Linda

Davette, I hope you feel better, soon.

I tried the hoedowns from Teresa's talk last night. Talking about being winded when I finished.[] Although, I don't have issues with menopause, she says that doing the new way affects the glucose/hormone issue. Well, I do have glucose issues. We shall see how these affect me.

    Hello Linda and Andrea.

    Where are you Juanita??

    Hi everyone!!

I'm here and I read the posts this morning but didn't have a chance to respond because I had a ton of stuff waiting for me to take care of. Bristol was awesome! It actually snowed on Saturday so no race (I think I had hypothermia or frostbite). But Sunday and Monday were so awesome. I know many people (especially women) don't know what I find so great about Nascar but hearing 43 roaring cars around 1/2 mile track just makes my heart go pitter patter! Not to mention the hotties that drive the cars! [:0][)]

    I'll post more tonight.

    Juanita

Davette - Feel better soon. What have I heard about colds? PBS, brushing, a nice shower, and off to bed? Ok, you can skip to the shower and then off to bed if you like.

Charity - I was trying the hoedowns too. One day I'll get the arm/leg thing figured out. I was quite winded after just one or two.

Juanita - Nascar RAWKS! I didn't get the Bristol / Nascar connection when you mentioned it before. So glad you had a good time! I went to the Portland Speedway a long time ago, and hearing those cars for the first time will take your breath away. Don't the cars go round first and then the sound follows? Or is it the other way around...? Roar!

Good afternoon Regals. I did the More w/o yesterday and this morning. I felt like a bad mama this morning when I strongly insisted that my son go to school. Well, he called after 9 to say that he still felt really bad and I needed to come pick him up. I can hardly wait to hear what the specialist has to say. He doesn't see him until next month. I felt that I needed to get my workout done early just so time doesn't get away from me.

Charity - thanks for starting the thread. Are the hoedowns different that the BWO plus w/o?

Andrea, sorry you are not feeling well. Enjoy your massage.

Davette - hope you get over your cold soon.

Linda - you will enjoy the workout. Pretty soon, you'll be able to do the entire workout.

Juanita - sounds like you had a fantastic time.

Everyone - have a great day.

Hey y'all - anyone planning on doing this contest?

I'm trying to think about what other preparatory work I want to do. I know I want a bra and shorts in my real size for before pictures, and I need my kitchen clean, and I need to write my "winning story" but other than that - any ideas?

By winning story, what I like to do before any major attempt to change myself is write a little story about my future self as I would like to be after the change. When I was in the Army and wanted to get promoted to Sergeant, I wrote a story that went like this:

SGT Hallmark (my maiden name) is/does _______

And I listed all of the qualities I admired in NCOs.

I told my sergeants I wanted promotion counseling and the main one talked to me for 2.5 hours (2 hours longer than normal) about everything I would have to change to be an NCO. He didn't have a lot of confidence that I could do it, obviously. Anyway, I added all the good points he had made to my list, and within 5 weeks I was talking to him again.

He said "You know, about a month ago I wasn't sure you had it in you to be an NCO, ever. I only counseled you because I'm required to counsel anyone who asks. But now - it's been a month and not only have you addressed every concern I had, you've improved in ways I never even dreamed of. I thought I might chat with you in 3-4 months about your progress, maybe give you more pointers - but you're ready now. I'm amazed. Not only are you ready for the promotion board, I'm excited about presenting you."

(BTW - I also like to review past successes and see what I can do.)

Anyway, I went to my promotion board and the Sergeant Major stopped to "chat" with me after the board. You know, a little getting to know you thing while other nervous specialists waited in the hall - completely unheard of. When I asked my NCO how he thought I'd done, he told me that when they'd talked to him afterward, he'd had to fight not to laugh with triumph. He had this faintly nervous expression pasted on his face and our SGM said "Don't get cocky. You know she knocked it out of the ball park."

I've decided - that's the level of success I want from the next 90 days. Not just "as good as anyone else" but better than anyone imagined it could be done - you know, raising the bar of success. It's cocky, it's overconfident, but better overconfidence than none at all.

    Who's with me?

All good things come to those who work for them.
