    Default Where do I start?

I am 44 years old and have had a weight problem all of my adult life. I thought I was fat as a teenager, but what I wouldn't give to be that weight again! I have an artificial hip and plantar faciatis. The current diet I am on is Weight Watchers, with an 18 pound weight loss in 12 weeks. I need to see better results, otherwise I am tempted to give up. I loved to exercise but arthritis pain and being over 40 is taking its toll. Can this work for me?
Where do I start? I am not familiar with all the terms (boot camp?) and would like to do this program to see if it would work for me. Thanks for your help.

Just a short note: I am sure you found out what bootcamp is by now. So I will tell you about MSM. MSM is the pure form of what people are taking for arthritis in the form of glucosamine chondroitin (sp) for joint and arthritis. It's pure sulphur and detoxes like nobody's business, including uric acid within the joints. My bowel movements are many now throughout the day where they used to be only one. I take that along with fossil flour which cleans you out really well. I take these products every day and have seen miraculous things happen to me. I have read that many people get great relief from the arthritic problems you are speaking of. I take them for something completely different and it's helping me greatly.

Then, yesterday, while reading this site I found out about magnesium oil for pain and loads of other things. You should search magnesium oil on this site and see about purchasing some...Good luck!

Carol, I would recommend the workout called MORE. It is for those who have physical problems. There is less twisting and it is easier to hold the form. Now, I am not a trainer, I am sure one will chime in here soon and give you some more advice.

You can also call the office and talk to them about your physical problems and they will also recommend the best workout for you and answer any questions you have.

I am 59 and stronger than I have ever been and more than ready for this next stage of life. I plan on keeping my muscle strength, bone strength and flexibility through t-tapp way into my 90's. Think of all the fun I am going to have the next 30 years!!

Carol, the More workout is a great place to begin. Start off slowly, don't feel like you have to do the entire workout the first time through. T-Tapp is a progressive exercise program. Doing your own 'best' each time and you WILL see improvement even if you start with just primary back stretch. With your health concerns it is very important that you focus first on the correct T-Tapp stance (toes forward, feet hip width apart, butt tucked, KLT(knees out toward little toes, ribs lifted, shoulder down in alignment) this seems like alot and at first won't feel comfortable, but it will protect your back hips and spine as you line to put your body in correct alignment. I always tell anyone that's learning T-Tapp for the first time to just pause several times during the day and simply put your body in the T-Tapp stance. Muscle memory is a powerful tool, and doing this soon it will feel natural. Please keep coming back to the forum with questions and coments--we're here to help!

I agree that MORE would be a great one for you to start with.
If you get a copy of Teresa's book, Fit and Fabulous, there is a 30% off coupon in the back that you could use for the MORE workout and whatever else you would like to get from the T-Tapp store.

Funny how a 2004 post can finally be answered, LOL!

    Was More even available then???

Do not be confused, I am NOT a trainer just someone who has been around for over 12 years and talks too much!

Hopefully one of the many Certified T-Tapp Trainers will be along shortly, with the most accurate information.

Sometimes old posts are "bumped" by spammers (i.e., people who only want to direct traffic to another commercial site, and do not want to discuss T-Tapp, or even converse with our members in the "off topic" forum).

Sometimes old posts are bumped by newbies using the "search" function to see if someone already asked a question they have. Obviously it is fine to do this; except as you've noted sometimes the original poster is long gone but people don't notice the date on the post and start asking the original poster questions.

We see this on other discussion forums besides these; it's a universal occurrence.
