Alfalfa & headaches
Does this happen to anyone else who is prone to migraines? I'm so sad that this may be the reason why I've had a headache everday since Sat (first started taking them). It has been a migraine but not the kind where I have to stay home (thank God). I ususally get headaches everyday before my period but that ended so I was like what is going on. In addition to getting these headaches (which no amount of pain killers can get rid of) I'm naseaous (sp)regardless of what I eat. I'm going to try it out today and if it I don't get a headache, I'm going to have to give this stuff away.
Send me a PM(do we have that) or an email if you are interested.

Think I have that problem, too...
I found your post via a Google search when I was reading up on alfalfa. At first I didn't think anything of it. I've been taking alfalfa for about 3 weeks. As usual when it's that TOM, I got bad headaches that progressed--but even after it was over, the headaches came daily and my usual pain relievers weren't working. Thinking it was my neck troubles, I went to the chiropractor twice, but still daylong headaches not going away. Then, a few days ago, I got a migraine at work--it was so miserable!! I stopped taking alfalfa & fibertox--and since then, no headaches.
I am not worried about the fibertox--I actually started it a week earlier than the alfalfa and had no problems--I like how it regulates things, and I see myself slowing down without it, so I'll go back to it. (I'm an A blood type--haven't heard Teresa's seminar on that--it's on my wish list--but I know she recommends fibertox for A's.)
Has anyone else had problems with alfalfa and headaches? I was taking 4-6 per day. Would a smaller dose be advised?
I'm pretty disappointed--I just bought 2 more bottles on Cyber Monday, because I hadn't made the connection. Sigh...

There is a small percentage of people who can't take alfalfa. I would suggest you call the office tomorrow and visit with them about the problem.

I have no expertise to respond to the alfalfa-headache connection . . . but I will say that I've read over and over and over, here and elsewhere on the internet about magnesium oil being very instrumental in eliminating migranes! Worth a look!

I can't answer to the alfalfa being responsible for the migraines. But to take the thinking in a different direction, I do (rather DID) get migraines. About 3-1/2 years ago I got, what I thought was, a migraine - all the signs were there of a my migraines (aura, etc.). It had me so sick, that hubby had to take me to the emergency room. They gave me awful drugs (Nurse said "This may not make the migraine go away, but it will make you feel like you don't care." What did that mean?!?! Awful stuff) Then two days later, same thing. Only now the drs office was open. I spent the whole afternoon there, receiving shots for pain and nausea. Two days later, same thing. Apparently, the pain meds I was receiving via injection or IV were lasting for two days. The dr sent me for an MRI and the results showed an awful sinus infection in my head! And I wasn't even congested, so I had no clue! 1,000 mg of antibiotics for 10 days, but it took 3 or 4 days to feel any relief! All this to say that your symptoms may be something else that just happened to start around the time you starting taking alfalfa. I hope you get to the bottom of it.

Your experience is almost identical to the experience my husband had, which caused him to develop a gluten intolerance!! A piercing headache that lasted days, debilitating, sent him to the emergency room, where they injected steroids. Didn't touch the headache, later discovered a sinus infection (he'd never had one before) and the result of the steroidal injections? No more wheat!! ugh!

How long have you been Tapping? I got migraines a lot in the first month, increasing toward my period. The two explanations I can think of include a) I was using my traps instead of my lats while attempting to achieve correct form and b) I was definitely detoxing. My first PMS on TTapp was so turbo I wondered if I was pregnant.
This month, I got one headache, which went away with a single dose of Advil. Otherwise, my PMS is a lot better. I attribute the improvement to the alfalfa, which I finally started taking about a week ago.
Of course, you have to do what's right for you; I'm just adding a possibility.

I am prone for weather related migraine. I do not find Alfalfas affect that one way or the other. However, PBS helps relieve the remaining headache hangover a lot quicker.
Ordered More and TWO on 7/7/2010, Started tapping on 7/30/2010.

Tapping, hormones, the re~balancing of hormones, plus the extra balancing effects of alfalfa... I would not sell or give away your extras just yet! They are good for a couple of years and with all the extra things that *could* be going along with the changes, I would *not* rule Teresa's alfalfa out so quickly. The normal alfalfa issues are bloating and intestinal issues, I thought, not headaches, but I could be wrong. Don't give up too quickly!!!

Do not be confused, I am NOT a trainer just someone who has been around for over 11 years and talks too much!
Hopefully one of the many Certified T-Tapp Trainers will be along shortly, with the most accurate information.

Thanks for all of the replies. At first, I didn't make the alfalfa connection because I knew I needed to go to the chiropractor about my neck (it was past due for a visit) and I'd had my TOM. However, when that ended and I'd been to the chiro twice, yet the headaches got worse (and I had a truly awful migraine at work one day), I remembered this thread.
Since I gave up the alfalfa, I have had no headaches. I may (eventually) try it again--maybe just one per day at first (that's not many, I know, when I read how much some people take). I've been tapping for a few months, so I've been through the body readjustment aspect.
I like the idea of the mag oil, though. I may have to try it!
Thanks again for your answers.
