last year i did the GM/MM thingy, making my own modifications and lost 35 pounds in about 7 months and managed to keep it off the rest of the year.

this year i'm already down about 7 more pounds and i'm not really watching WHAT i eat at all.
i'm only concerned with HOW MUCH i eat and WHEN i eat.
God designed our bodies to eat food for 'fuel'. He also designed our bodies so that our tummy's would growl when they needed more fuel.
man made all these RULES for eating that we've been catering to all our lives.
serving sizes, figuring grams of this and that, even times we eat...(noon does NOT mean we HAVE to eat lunch)...no wonder we're fat.
i have a tendancy to read and adapt 'man-made' eating plans to my own needs rather well. i take what makes common sense out of them and dismiss the rest.
i have recently read the 'naturally thin' book as well as the 'weigh down diet' book and took the best of both and again it is working.
eat only when you are truly hungry (tummy growls) no matter what time of the day. eat only enough to satisfy that hunger...sometimes that is only a few bites. don't eat again until your tummy growls.
i am amazed how little i am eating! i've cut my food intake by almost 75%! (saving a lot of money on groceries too)
i eat WHATEVER i am hungry for when i get hungry...just not a lot of it.

i guess what i'm saying is that you don't have to follow any specific "diet" to lose weight.
dieting only makes you concentrate on food all the more. you spend half your day deciding what you can eat and if it falls into your guidelines and where, etc.
you spend all that time thinking about food and you'll never get away from it.

set yourself free from the call of food.
it shouldn't cross your mind until you feel your tummy growl, THEN think about what it is you want and get a few bites, THEN go back to whatever it was you were doing and don't think about food again until you're hungry.
you can train yourself to get hungry at suppertime if you have a big family to feed...
if you have nibbled on the food you prepared for the kids for lunch, then just sit with them while they eat and don't eat anything yourself until your tummy growls again...you can make it work for you.

if you never knew the eating principles behind the 'weigh down diet', check out this page and just keep common sense in your mind.

i don't intend to be worrying about my weight for the rest of my life.
i feel now i am being set free from it once and for all and it is a good feeling!

if you feel the only way to lose weight is to measure and count and figure, figure, figure, go right ahead. i just wanted you to know there are other ways.

best of luck in whatever you do!
