Actually, my name has a two-fold meaning... When I was in grade school I used to take rollerskating lessons and LOVED it--lived on skates that entire time period, for all I can remember--but then chickened out as soon as they started to teach us jumps like the ice skaters do.

When I went to college, I used to skateboard to my classes. I was the only female skateboarder on campus, so people I'd never met before would say, "Hey, I know you! You're the skater chick!"... and somehow it morphed into sk8rgrrl for an e-mail address I had shortly after college.

So there is the story of my name. Fascinating, eh?
