Hi everyone. I found this recipe in prevention some time ago. I don't know if it works since I didn't find the recipe until after I had my daughter. I am posting this in hopes that it works and gives some of you all some relief from morning sickness. Here is the excerpt from the magazine:
Tried-And-True Yankee Recipe makes Morning Sickness Extinct!
"My favorite remedy for nausea during pregnancy is a cantaloupe-banana shake that my husband and I developed," says a leading New England obstetrician-gynecologist. "Some women are so nauseated that they have to be on a liquid diet for awhile. Instead of sticking to juices and water, try our shake. It contains plenty of protein, carbohydrates, calcium and vitamin C--Just about everything your body needs when pregnant. And you can drink as many shakes as you want."
Here's the recipe:
1 large ripe banana, peeled, cut into chunks, wrapped tightly in plastic wrap, and frozen for 24 hours
1 cup cantaloupe chunks, covered tightly and frozen for 24 hours
1 1/4 cups skim milk
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Serve immediately.
