Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share something with all of you who are interested in toxin removal....This is a bit odd, and quite and explanation....but, here goes....
I attend a weekly meditation session. The leader of the sessions says that drinking 2 cups of hot water every night before bed will really flush the system and aid in detoxing your organs. It must be PLAIN water and hot (like when you drink tea).
The interesting thing is that it DOES work. He also does 'healing' and I took my son to him with a recent bout of pneumonia (after he was on antibiotics for a week) and he suggested that he also drink the hot water. My son, who is 14, followed this advice. When he stopped the hot water he noticed that his pimples and oily skin reappeared. I caught him heating up hot water again last Friday and I asked him what he was doing. He said that he noticed when he was drinking it his face cleared up and he did not have to use his acne medicine....and once again, 4 days later, his face is the clearest it has been in years.
I also drink the hot water, but not on a regular basis, but after my son's sage advice, think I will start....
cheers,
Angela

I'm bumping this back up to the top. We are all in the winter season (unless you live in the Southern Hemi) and it's a perfect time to ingrain this as a habit as it feels good. ALSO with all the junk we tend to eat it just might help us through the season with minimal damage.
I started this when the thread was first posted but didn't stick with it. Now I'm going to try and make a habit of it.

Okay - I admit I haven't read this entire thread very carefully, but I saw that the issue of microwaving your water came up. It CAN be very dangerous, but if you put a wooden chopstick in the water, you won't have any problems. Learned that from "Good Eats" on the Food Network.
Thanks for the link, Tali! :D

I use a tea kettle. I try to avoid using my microwave .. actually it's because I've heard of people's water mugs exploding in the nuker so I usually end up prodding the mug with something long handled before I grab it out. :)

Thanks for bumping this up. I am still a newbie here (about 6 months or so) and hadn't seen this before. I have been miserable with a cough for the last few days, and I am hoping this will help.

So glad this was bumped. At times I drink hot tea to warm me up, but I am going to switch to hot water and see if that helps move toxins out of my body. Plus, it would be nice if it helped with my skin also.

My Dad was coughing badly on Friday night and I told my Mom to start him on hot water. He started drinking it and it really helped clear up his cough. He was also taking a cough syrup but didn't take it prior to bed last night and he only woke up once with a coughing fit. He was still not coughing much this morning.
Whether or not it's solely the cough syrup or the hot water I don't know but it did seem to help.
I've been drinking it instead of regular water the past couple of days and my system seems to be flowing better.

Thanks for bumping this back up. I've gotten so used to drinking my herb teas that I'd forgotten all about this great detoxing.

I've been drinking hot water more frequently than room/regular temp water and it's very comforting.
My skin is looking even better but I don't know if it's because I'm being super diligent about my daybreak skincare, the vitamins/efa's I'm taking, t-tapp or the hot water. I think I'll just give credit to everything. :)

I started this, and the first few nights I felt THIRSTY afterwards - it was so odd! But I quickly got used to it and now I look forward to finishing my day with a steaming cup of water. Sounds odd, but it's really soothing....

Yeah me too. I love ending my day that way. I take the time to curl up in bed with a book and my hot water and just take my time drinking it before sleep. It allows me to just come down from my day.
I notice that after I drink a glass of hot water that my mouth feels parched. It's strange. I don't usually add my salt to the water though I should.

I have really been enjoying the hot water throughout the day as my classroom is freezing and it helps warm me up...before bed is nice too, makes me all warm and sleepy :)
