My daughter is slowly regaining her strength. She trys to do too much. That is her personality, but slowly she is comming to the realization that it will come in time. They are going to start her on Physical Therapy soon as , the Multiple Myeloma did a number on an already twisted spine. I pray that it will help.
Do to the fact that I am a very healthy 87, I have been picking up the slack. We live just 5 minutes from each other,so I have been doing all of her grocery shopping, and a lot of the cooking and cleanup. That is not a complaint as it is wonderful to be useful and to be there for those you love.
Unfortunately you tend to ignore little problems that arise in your own life.
I had a small irritation in my mouth, after self medicating for a week or so, i went to the dentist. She sent me to an oral surgeon within 20 minutes. He biopsied it and sent me to another surgeon today.. The upshot of is that I too have cancer. It a squimcell(MP) of the jaw and they are planning to do surgery as soon as possible. Because of my age,and it will require a general, I have to have a battery of test first. Tomorrow will be going for several routine test. then I have to have a Pet scan, a Cat scan and an MRI of the head, neck and jaw. There will be a plastic surgeon working with him, altho most of the work will be inside the mouth. When he cut on the bone he will take some skin from my wrist to cover the bone(sounds strange to me). Anyway I am strangely calm about this, maybe because it is out of my hands.
I am deeply concerned about my grandaughter. We are very close. She just lost her other grandmother to cancer, has gone thru the cancer with her mother, and now this. Thru it all she has made the deans list her first year in collage. That was a surprise because in high school she majored in boys! She grew us in a hurry when cancer entered our lives.
Thank my T-tapp family for all your prayers, please add me to your list , I will keep you posted. Love to all, Dotjane
