Hello Ladies,

I appreciate you looking at my post. I am having an unusually long luteal phase (for me), and am hoping to get some input. Here is my chart:

My Ovulation Chart (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/27de21)

Normally my luteal phase is 10 day at most. I may have ovulated early on day 11 and am seeing a triphasic pattern which would mean that I am quite possibly pregnant. What would be some other reasons for a longer than usual luteal phase? Thanks for your input!!

Laura

I wish I knew this stuff, Laura and how to figure all of it out for myself without a lab. I'm sorry I cannot answer your question, but I am sending you hugs.

Thanks, Pamela. I appreciate the hugs. I'm feeling pretty emotional today and really tired. I do understand that I may be thinking my way into having pregnancy symptoms though, so I'm trying to relax and plan on testing in a couple of days.

Hmm...it jumped up about a week later, too, as for implantation. I would definitely treat yourself as if you are pg until you are sure you're not. Can't think of too many issues that would result in the high temps and longer luteal phase. I wish I had my book but someone's borrowing it--Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler.

HUGS to you!

Hi! I took Trisch's advice and got TCOYF a few months ago... have been charting since. When I look at your chart I have the following questions:
1. Are you taking your temp at the same time every day?
2. Any interferences whatsoever, such as a glass of wine the night before or getting up to pee before you take your temp?

If those are both ruled out, I'd say you have a good case for pregnancy. I'd also say you could definitely take a pg test - right? If your luteal phase is usually 10-ish days and you're now on day 15... you'd most likely have some HCG going! What has stopped you from testing?

Good luck! Let us know!

Thanks, Trisch. I will definitely treat myself as pregnant until I know for sure.

katiedinger, I do take my temperature at the same time every day. I do have disturbances in that I am still night nursing my 15 month old dd (she sleeps with me so the interruptions consists of rolling over to let her nurse), but I've usually had a decent span of uninterrupted time when I take it. I've waited to test because long cycles aren't foreign to me (long luteal phase is) and I've really been careful-haha! Really silly reasons for not testing, right? :) I input my two suspected dates of ovulation into a calculator and the latter date suggests I should wait another day or two to test, so I guess I'll do that. Thanks and please do share if you think of anything else.

There's a section in TCOYF about nursing. I'd be happy to look up any details I can for you. What you might want to do is look on tcoyf.com and search around for "nursing" - there will no doubt be some free info on there!

I'm TTC myself, and the two week wait is a monster! :) hoping you are positive!

Boy Howdy, is that true! Thanks for the website info. I'll check out www.tcoyf.com and our library has it (only 40 minutes away) so I can check it out. Laura, thanks for posting this thread, sweetie.

Thanks for the support, Ladies! I'll definitely update you all with my test results. I was tempted to have my dh run for a test(40 min. away) this evening, but I'm trying to be reasonable and wait for the stores to open tomorrow, and will test Sunday morning.

katiedinger, thanks for the website info. I'll check that out. :)

Pamela, I'm glad your library has the book. I really need to get that one. I keep hearing it recommended too.

((baby vibes))to both of you! :)

Thanks for chiming in, Katie! I'm going to have to get mine back! ;) It is a really good reference book. You'll just need to overlook some of the...um...case studies?! A bit TMI on some of them! LOL!

The book's charts really have helped me figure things out. Well worth having!

The website does have a lot of good info, too!

It looks like I won't be needing that test afterall. Thanks for the support! I wonder why my LP was longer than usual? Hmmm....my body must still be adjusting with bfing and all. Thanks again.

This website has very inexpensive ovulation strips and pregnancy tests. I thought you gals that are TTC might want to know about it. I think I may get a few, so that I can test whenever I want to and not feel bad about the cost. :)

Trisch, I don't mind the stories, but some of the photos... aie!

LauraBeth, sorry this wasn't your time. Although I haven't read the section on BF'ing, I thought there was some likelihood that you would not ovulate dependably until you're done. Now I'll have to read it!

Good luck TTCers! I'm on day 18 (O'd day 16) and just at the beginning of the wait. Serenity now!
