Sometimes it's tough to get started with fibromyalgia. You think you are taking it easy and then-wham! Knocked down, drug out. I've been pulling out T-Tapp for the last 8 or so years, see brief results and then relapse into bed.

THIS time, I'm not really sure what is different, but I am determined to keep going! I'm dragging a few friends along with me, too. They have been amazed at the difference in just 2 weeks.

Starting slowly and trying to listen to my body, I've mainly been doing T-Tapp Basic + Tempo. I can't do a bootcamp-this body can't go there. But I can get 2 days in a row with a total day or 2 of rest. If I can, I do E. Back stretch and hoe-downs on the off days. One day I plowed through Instructional #2, it took me all afternoon! I keep the book at my side and try to refine my form every time.

I know some people are unfamiliar with this program and want to know what the catch is. If there is any catch I would have to say that early dramatic loss is fluid draining and quick tightening of the core girdle. It seems as easy to gain your losses back as quickly as they left in the first place if you stop. The body has to start making these losses a little more permanent before you can relax too much. I have to keep going no matter what-gently!

I thrive on success stories and before and after, that's why I'm writing this. Maybe someone will be helped by my journey! A little accountability doesn't hurt, either!

I started 2 weeks ago, age 51, height 5' 6.5"(in the morning!) 204.8lbs. Very short torso, long legs, big busted.
Today I have lost 12.75" and weigh 205.4!
Gained 6 lbs of muscle and .2lbs of bone mass and I'm still 51
The part I find interesting is that 11.75" were lost the first week, the muscle and bone gain, this week! Last Wednesday I weighed 201.2 and I've been pretty good food-wise. If my body wants to take turns in where improvements happen, I guess I'll let it.

Can't wait to see what happens in the next 2 weeks!

Welcome (back), Jill! What a great testimony!

Yes, listen to your body and do what you can. Your body will be focusing on healing from the inside out, so it's really wonderful you have seen inch loss! And obviously muscle gain! ;) (I know all about THAT! LOL!)

Do jump in and ask questions, share successes, vent, whatever! I credit staying on the forums for helping me stay with it!

HUGS!

I wasn't going to add more for another week BUT...

Lost another 5" and 4lbs this week. As I do the workout I tighten EVERYTHING I've got. By the time I finish hoe-downs, I'm doing some serious heavy breathing!(Basic + Tempo) Had to take two full days off this weekend , but was walking around on heels with more grace and balance than I've had in a long time.

Thanks to those of you who have success stories and put the link in your sign-off. I'm getting close to having everyones memorized!:)

Week 5-STILL going! YEA!
Easter week was tough. As a church musician my schedule fell apart and I was exhausted. The tape had +s and -s that about evened out.
A week later and I'm down another 5" for a total of 22.5".
I'm shimmying into a size 14 dress(down from16-18) for a performance on Saturday! Last time I was in that size I was 20 pounds lighter. I haven't really lost more than a pound or 2 and have been HANGING on the up side of 200-driving me nuts! - Small party when that barrier crashes down!
I'm still taking 1-2 days between workouts (BWO+), more often 2. Worked out extra hard Monday and had to sleep 12 hours, but I'm perking back up!

Thank-you Trisch and Kayla.
Kayla, I'm going to give GM/MM a try, I'm looking at the cookbook you have in your tag. I'm not much of a cook, I don't really LIKE to cook or come up with ideas. Any inspiration helps... will keep you posted!
