How frequently should I dry brush? I've started doing it every morning, but I'd also like to add it in the evening, particularly since my skin gets so dry in the winter. It feels great and I'd like to follow it up with a moisturizer. Is this too much?

Nope! Twice a day is fine!

I like to brush before and after a workout. You do detox from brushing, so it's nice to shower or wash off afterwards, but it's better to DO it than stress about it! (And I've done the shower right afterwards most times, but if I'm doing it at night, no shower! ;) )

HTH!

I don't think there's a maximum!

I brush everyday, at least once, but I do target specific areas a couple of times a day too!!! I can't get enough :)

Our one and only Michelle posted The Benefits of Dry Skin Brushing Explained on another post, it may even be a sticky

1.Removes cellulite
2.Cleanses the lymphatic system
3.Removes dead skin layers
4.Strengthens the immune system
5.Stimulates the hormone and oil-producing glands
6.Tightens the skin preventing premature aging
7.Tones the muscles
8.Stimulates circulation
9.Improves the function of the nervous system
10.Helps digestion

If you are feeling ill, increasing the treatments to twice a day is good.

You can also dry brush areas of cellulite five to 10 minutes twice a day to achieve cellulite dissolving but the technique needs to be done consistently for a minimum of five months

So it's not a bad thing to do!! :D

I wouldn't dry brush my face though, correct? I work with a derm and use the clarisonic at night because my skin is so sensitive on my face.

Why not?? I do!
Not with Teresa's brush but with a specific face brush. It makes my skin feel soft and gives me a healthy glow!
If your skin is sensitive you may not like it, that's up to you. :)

I don't live in the States, so I don't know about the shops, but here's one on Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/New-England-Earthline-Skincare-Products/dp/B000VV0JNQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1296156638&sr=8-2

it should be natural bristle! :)

Michelle, once again, came to the rescue and gave these tips for face brushing

T-Tapp's Face Brushing Sequence is as follows:

Begin with brushing up on the neck and then on the face, you brush up and out:

Jaw line - brush out in circular motions towards ear.
Cheekbones - brush out in circular motions towards ear.
Forehead - start in middle of forehead and brush out on each side towards temple.
Nose - small circular movements over the nose.
Under eyes - tiny, light circular motions from outer eye in towards the nose (not out towards ear)

Enjoy!! :)

Dana uses one of those men's whisker brushes for shaving soap - says it's perfect! But my local walmart had the soap but no brush when I looked the other day. Darn!

Oh perfect!

Thanks Tara for the tips! :)

Also, is it bad to NOT shower after brushing? I always do, but I have wondered...

You don't HAVE to shower after brushing, but it helps to wash off the dead skin cells from all that exfoliation.

I try to do it twice a day, but some days I can only get it in once. When I first started, I was very skeptical about it, but I am LOVING the results!

I actually use my clarisonic in the same way that Michelle has described. It's nice, soft brush and it's given me fantastic results. I use it with a cleanser at night and then I dry brush with it in the morning. You can change out the brushes easily.
