I really am. They say you can lose 30 pounds in 30 days by eating the hemp hearts and a large salad for dinner. So, I'm going to put it to the test. It will be interesting to see if it works as advertised and also, if it will give me the energy to work out every day. We shall see starting Monday.

Good luck!

Just to share but not to put a damper on your quest, they don't agree with me and really messed up my TOM. This probably won't happen to you, but just so you know.

I tried this last summer and lost 6 pounds in 6 days, then ran out of will power at a bbq so have never gone 30 days. Tried various ways to eat the hearts in the a.m., like in oatmeal but was starving before noon so started making my own bars with bittersweet chocolate and some pecans or macadamia nuts. That worked really well and also having leftover stir fry veggies with the hemp hearts sprinkled on them for breakfast. Fruits don't agree with me in the morning but I did try them in a smoothie with a couple slices of banana and a few blueberries and that did not hold me much past lunch time but seemed to be better than the oatmeal.
If you'd like company and I can get to the health food store for a small bag to last until a bigger order gets to me, and to Costco for some veggies, I may just join you for 30 days, starting Monday.

Thanks Donna & Blissful. I will definitely keep everyone posted. And I did put the link for my blog. It will definitely be interesting.

Thanks Wendy for letting me know your experience. I think I did read that in the posts. I asked my intuition if this was the right step for me and it seems like it is. So, I'm going full force :)

Joann, I'd love to have a partner to do this with. I'll PM you:clappinghands:. I'm buying lots of veggies in case fruits don't last me, goji berries, lots of fruit and Greek yogurt. We shall see.

What is a hemp heart?

And how do you get all of that cool stuff beneath your name that tells about you?

Very, very new here!

Thanks,

Can you please, if you choose to as it's personal, share with us how it affects your cycle? Including moods, cramps (or lessening of those uncomfortable symptoms some deal with) and whether or not it changed the length of your cycle? Thanks for considering this and I apologize if it's too much.

Given Wendy's experiences and my own with miscarriages, I am very, very careful now.

Pamela, I'd be happy to share that on the Ttapp forum. You're a fabulous group of ladies that I would trust. I'm about a week away from starting so I don't know if it will affect it this time around. Plus, I take Evening Primrose Oil and spirulina to help smooth out the hormones. But I will let you know what happens either way :). And if you have further questions, don't hesitate to PM me.

Good luck!! One customer, an 85 year old Mother Superior in a convent, lost weight and after 50+ years was finally at the weight she was when she entered the convent! Way cool.

As for the smoothies, remember to only mix the Hemp Hearts until they are distributed. You will do better if the body breaks down the oils instead of the blender! Also, Peppermint tea is a wonderful tea in the afternoon - very healthy and tones the entire system!

Thanks Joan. How very cool for the nun. We'll have some interesting results for you when we're done. And thanks for the reminder on the smoothies:hello2:

I started hemp (4 TBSP) this AM with fruit. I don't know about the no hunger thing until dinner...I had to eat at 1 pm. Very hungry! A salad just for dinner?? Forget it! But it is very close to my TOM and I am a T-tapper!!

How cool that you're joining in. I had the most ridiculously large bowl of yogurt with 5 TBSP, 2.5 handfuls of raspberries and a handful of goji berries. We'll see how I feel as the day goes along. But LOL, I'm right there with you with the TOM & the exercise. Guess we'll see:licklips:

I started today with 5 tbs mixed in with a plain, mashed sweet potato at 11:30. No hunger but feeling the need for a work break around 3-4 pm. Drank a small cup of Wild Berries herbal tea. I did feel some genuine hunger around 8 but ignored it to see if it would go away. Not really gone two hours later but I'm very tired and need to sleep more than eat.

Another way I like to eat them is to mash an avocado, add the hearts and stuff some celery stalks. Sprinkle with a little sea salt. Add some cumin, red pepper flakes, whatever you like.

think I should have started this not during TOM. Am extra hungry and crabby! Snarl...LOL, :o( Not really sure what I am feeling right now.

But, if I do eat them in the morning, I choose a couple of fruit and can make it to about 2. Very tasty

It's day 3 for me. I've had the same meal plan for the last 3 days and it's working for me. I really love the breakfast. And I went up to 6 TBSP and was not hungry until dinner. It was perfect.

I don't have any extra energy but it's TOM so I don't expect any. Continuing on :)

Pamela, My husband and I both reacted poorly to hemp hearts. My cycle balance was thrown completely off and I had very painful cramps whereas I had had no pain and had been regular. It took me a few months to get my cycles back on track. Both my husband and I were so tired we hurt. As soon as we quit eating the hemp hearts (no other change) things went back to normal for us.

Most don't seem to react this way but good to be aware people can react negatively to hemp hearts.

Day Three for me, too. Day Two was good, 5 Tbsp in the morning in half of a breakfast bar. Had the other half today. No hunger til late afternoon and no hunger in the evening either day. I may forget how to cook! Think I will try putting 6 Tbsp in 1 cup of drinkable yogurt tomorrow and see how that holds me.

Day 7

This is day 7. I did weigh today and I am down 10 pounds. Woo hoo!

My cycle just ended so I'll tell you my experiences. If it's TMI, sorry. But, you ladies wanted to know :) Normally, the first 3 days are extraordinarily heavy and painful. Then I skip the day during day 4 and finish up with evening day 4 & 5. This time, I did not have the cramps that usually lead up to my cycle for days. Day 1 was about 1/4 of what it usually is. Day 2 was heavy but still a lot less than usual. Day 3 was even lighter. Today is day 5 and I did not have any bleeding nor did I yesterday. I was very weak on day 2 and am feeling a bit of it today, but otherwise, this was a much better cycle than I've had in years. Take into consideration though, that I take other supplements and that I've been faithfully doing the mag oil foot soaks for a couple of weeks now. So, take it with a grain of salt. This was just MY personal experience.

I still love the breakfast. I'm going to get way tired of the salads soon, but I'm continuing on.

Congrats!! Use variety in your salads...there is a variety of fresh produce now such as squashes that are awesome raw in salads! Edamame beans are great, too. Or, blend your salad into a drink. I can drink a lot more veggies than I can chew - particularly ones I might not normally eat! LOL!

Today is Day 9. Not weighing until tomorrow, but pants are looser in the hips and thighs, yay! Found out yogurt with the hearts does not hold me until noon, even when I used 6 tbsp. That seemed to be too much to digest or something. Just kind of sat there in my stomach for awhile.

Though not sick of salad yet but I've been faking things like taco salad by adding seasonings ie,taco seasonings mixed with mashed avocado which makes a creamy "dressing" when you toss the salad, or throwing lightly stir fried veggies with a bit of sesame oil/OJ dressing on top of a bowl of lettuce
greens for an Asian salad. I like the warm veggies with colder greens.

For the past 2 months I'd grown tired of figuring out what to have for meals and this makes it way easy. Just making sure I have lots of veggies to toss together.

Keep up the good work, Leva!

I like your food ideas. The last couple days, I've actually just eaten the veggies with no salad. And I could never eat lettuce (well I could but I'm not) with NO dressing. That's why I've done the amino acids and I may make a raw dressing here and there. I'm going to try your ideas too.

As for the hearts & yogurt, I actually think the goji berries are making a difference for me. They add a sweetness and crunch, plus they say that they have more protein than whole wheat. And really my bowl is huge so maybe that's it. LOL!

Can't wait until you weigh in :)

Down 5 pounds after 9 days, I'll take it! It's 5 more than the previous nine days! My cortisol levels drop dramatically by noon and are bottomed out by 5 so I'm going to try having half my hearts in the a.m. and eating a salad with the other half mid afternoon if I can last that long.

I need to lose pounds to lighten the load, but don't need to lose them all in 30 days. Right now I just want to feel better overall. Last year when I lost 6 in 6, I did not have this "want to go home after work and crawl in bed" fatigue.

A year ago I was doing MORE My Home, MORE chair, ESLA, OIP/HF and Ladybug POP every other day. Now I do only MFMH or parts of it or one of the others every third day, which is ok with me if it's all I can manage. I do tend to avoid those that are floor work because once down there I just want to stay :)

LOL! I so know what you mean about wanting to stay on the floor. LOL!

5 pounds. Congratulations!!! Woo hoo!:clappinghands:

Definitely go with what works for you. You should really try the goji berries. Maybe you could have some of those in the afternoon as well, to smooth out your levels.

We rock:laughing:

I bought mine at the local food market/health food store. But you can absolutely get them online. Vitacost has cheap & quick shipping!
