:crashing:I keep getting a little pop up message that says tapp bar site message or something like that with the link for Womans Day specials
that's great HOWEVER it just keeps popping up over and over and over, I've tried closing the little message box and it goes away but comes right back
it's starting to drive me batty!:help:

I'm guessing it was placed there for those who read Woman's Day. I believe there was a T-Tapp story coming out in the magazine soon so they we're probably expecting people to come to the forum and this is a way of directing them to the specials!

I'm with you, Lucy! This is EXTREMELY annoying. Especially after I clicked on the link thinking it would then go away - not.

Kayla, you may be right in this being a way of directing Women's Day readers to T-Tapp specials but frankly, it makes me want to log out. Can you tell I hate pop-ups? :mad: Wonder how long this pop-up will last....

I didn't mean to sound like a whiney-baby... I did make certain that my browser has pop-ups OFF, but this still creeps up. And always when I'm reading something on a thread, then have to wait until it goes away to continue...blah, blah, blah. Sorry. Just wish it would go away when you click it off.

And Of COURSE, I'm thrilled for Charlotte to be featured in Women's Day - she certainly deserves it. YEAH!!!

Yes it is very annoying! Everytime you click a new page on the site it comes up (right now I'm getting the Deep Discount Tuesday pop-up and it's not even Tuesday!).

How can we turn these off?

Hey everyone -- as you can see with so many permutations of how you all use your computers, we have lots to consider -- lol. When you close the notification window that pops up from the new Tapp Bar, it should stay closed. When it doesn't -- it makes me suspect that your system is caching the page. We'll look into that.

Sorry that some of you find the Tapp Bar annoying. I think you'll find in the coming months as we add functionality to it that you will like it more and more. We also have some MAJOR new things planned for the forum...and as usual T-Tapp will be setting the pace in the cyber world. But -- we don't just throw stuff up and cross our fingers so we are in a testing phase right now.

The little chevron over at the far right collapses the bar so it's less intrusive. However, trust me, you will want to have it still on in the near future since we will use this to communicate with you a lot more -- for instance, your newsletter will now come to you via the Tapp Bar rather than email. Isn't that cool? There's so much spamming out there in the world and some ISPs will flag our emails because we send out so many (our newsletter mails to almost 80,000 subscribers!)....one month we're fine, the next month the ISP changes it's mind and we're not. Think of all the little mom and pop internet providers -- we have to correspond with each them when you let us know that you're not getting your newsletter and it uses a lot of valuable time that could be better spent. There are also new "laws" coming down the pike regarding how much email you can send every hour and those new limitations would virtually cripple our ability to communicate with you all individually as well as via email. These new rules will really cramp a lot of small business because in order to send larger volumes of emails there will be a hefty price tag. So - we've gotten ahead of that curve by implementing the Tapp Bar and creating from the ground up some of the functions it will serve in the future.

(The Tapp Bar also gives you ability to communicate real time with Tappers in other countries! If someone is in Hungary for instance -- and we have a lot of Hungarian Tappers *hi there!!* is on the forum, they can type a message in their language and it shows up here in Hungarian for them but will be in whatever language you have your system set for when you read it! That new functionality allows us to be much more inclusive and welcome our Tappin' friends who only Kirsten gets to meet in person lol. I was hoping we would add Pirate as a language too...but oh well :P)

Anyhow -- that's all to say -- you might actually like the Tapp Bar pretty soon! It is helpful when you let us know about things that are causing problems though. I can't wait until you all see the new things Teresa and Jeff have planned and I think you'll enjoy the "functionality at your fingertips" when we launch the next phase.

No problem -- we like to know what kinds of issues arise. Some of them will be resolved when we launch our super-deluxe new version of the forums :) so if we don't jump right in that is sometimes why. But do let us know what's going on!!
