Praying for you. Please also look into drinking 5 cup of green tea a day. There are studies showing that properties in green tea will slow down if not killing the breast cancer cells. Check out alternative medicine too.

As a bc survivor I know what you mean. So sorry to hear this. Will be praying! Many {{{hugs}}}. Stinks to find out just before Christmas but you can get past this.

Somewhere on this site I listened to an interview with Venus Demarco by a radio host in Canada. But here is an article about what she talked about at the retreat.

I think the biggest thing is that you don't have to rush into treatment (unless it's invasive BC). But take the time to figure out the course that you want to take.

I'd like to add a prayer request---
My brother and his family are driving across country from CA to the East Coast right now. This is the 1st time in 9 years that his whole family will be with the rest of the family. I'm asking for safety as they travel here. Also--my brother, raised in a Christian home, would rather I "send good thoughts" than pray for them! But I assured him that I'd rather pray because I KNOW that God hears my prayers that He does, indeed, answer them.

Thank you for including the need for salvation for my brother and his family, Piglet.

I've heard about them as they travel. They've hit snow at every turn and have had to put chains on the tires. They ran out of gas and were stuck on the side of the highway. At one gas station, they forgot their dog and had to go back and get him.

My brother says that this is the stupidest thing he has ever done!! Endangering the lives of his children and driving across the "snow belt" of our country.

Another added prayer request is for my dad. He most likely has pneumonia--again. He gets it most every winter. None of his male family members have lived past the age of 65 and he is 71.

Thanks so much for the prayers regarding my brother and his family and my parents' health.

My brother is heading back across the country today. They hope to avoid an ice storm predicted for IL. Please pray for their safety as they head back.

This is a very small request compared to serious things you all are going through, but I know the Lord cares about the little things, too!

My oldest dd plays harp, and she has a beautiful, older lever harp that is the same size and shape as a medium pedal harp (pedal harps are waaayyyy more expensive!).

She has a small separation of the bottom from the soundboard that is slowly growing. After doing some research online, she found she is possibly looking at up to $2000 to have it fixed--which is more than half of what she paid originally for the harp!

Please pray for us to find just the right person that will fix it and do it right, but not be out of sight cost-wise. Also that dd could earn that much money to be able to fix it. We're willing to help a little, but we can't swing that much, either. :(

She blesses a lot of people with her harp, so we'd greatly appreciate prayers to get it fixed!

I'm requesting prayer for one of our dearest friends. He is only 47 or 48. He also happens to be our oldest dd's father-in-law. He has been having issues with his colon/intestines for quite a while. Things came to a head last week and there is severe pain and bleeding involved. They scheduled a CAT scan for 9pm last night. We are praying that they can determine a correct diagnosis and that it won't be life-threatening.

Also, my brother and his family are on their way back across the country.

Please pray for a local family here where I live. He was a friend of mine years ago. The family were traveling together two days ago and were hit head on. He died instantly. His 4 children are in hospital with various injuries (mostly broken bones) and his wife is in hospital too, though miraculously is bruised.

This is the week that I learn whether I will continue in my present job or if I will be finding a new & better one.
As it is said, if you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on...and, Faith isn't faith until it's all you're hanging on to.
The Lord has been so gracious as to set up this situation for me and to stretch me to new lengths.
I'll appreciate all your prayers, please.

Thought I'd give an update to my earlier prayer requests.

I forgot to share that my brother and his family made it safely back home by Saturday. Thank you so much for your prayers.

We've heard an initial report on our df's possible medical diagnosis. The dr feels that the shadow that showed up on the CAT scan on his intestines is nothing to worry about. He feels that the bleeding was most likely due to an internal hemorrhoid. He also thinks the pain is from a hernia. Our friend will have a colonoscopy on Friday to determine more.

I have updated my resume and must begin preparing myself for more change.
I'm not thinking life will ever be smooth sailing again. I used to think that by the time I was in my mid 50's, things would wind down...but no.

Do you guys ever get tired of being strong? I do.

Please pray for continuous employment for me and to fear not.

The Lord brought me to a turning point tonight!!!! :clappinghands:

A friend at work had given me some movie passes to the "dollar" theatre for Christmas, so tonight I decided to go to a 6pm showing of Secretariat. I thought that would be great as it started 1 hr after I got off work and that would give me plenty of time to get there and I would still get home early.

That movie is about not quitting. During the movie, the Holy Spirit said to me "You win when you decide not to quit." i.e. You are a Winner when you decide not to quit! Wow! and PRAISE THE LORD!!!

I was feeling so down today. My demeanor was of one on death row just waiting for the jingle of the executioner's keys. I was acting like someone who had given up and had no hope. A friend at work who I confided in told me that a lot can happen in two weeks. How true! The Lord has turned things around for His children in a moment! He has not changed! That woman who owned Secretariat didn't give up no matter how many people told her she should and that she didn't have a prayer and she didn't. The Lord worked miracles in Secretariat's performance at the Belmont. No other horse has come close to his record breaking run. People watched and said what he was doing was impossible as they watched him do it! As I watched that part of the movie I thought to myself that if Revelation hadn't said the Lord would come back riding a white horse, I would think He would have chosen Secretariat to ride back on!

Tomorrow I'm going to work a Winner in Christ! I had forgotten who I am. I always enjoyed The Lion King so much for the line from it that says "Remember who you are."

No matter if my days there are to be few or I will be offered a permanent position...I am a Winner and that is how I will perform whether I have 2 weeks left or 10 years! Glory to God!!!

I will be starting the world wide fast tomorrow night with Pastor Jentezen Franklin's fasting movement and GREAT things are going to happen! My SIL told me that Pooh will be in town soon and wants to see me to give me some $ The Lord has a message for him. Our Good Shepherd is after him and no matter what He has to do to bring him back into the safety of the fold, He's doing it! He Who began a good work in Pooh will be Faithful to complete it! Our Good Shepherd NEVER FAILS!!!

Thank you all so much for your prayers!!! I believe I will be able to begin my WO's again, soon, too! I may just do short WO's during my fast as I will be doing a water fast this time, but I praise God for this turning point and I'm running after Him! Everything's going to be all right! Piglet, I came here two days ago after a long absence from the forum and caught up on the prayer requests. This morning as I read how down you were, it made me sad and I thought of you all day. I read where you said you didn't think you'd ever get out of the valley (not sure that's what you called it) again and as I thought about you all day, I kept coming back to the thought that God would not leave you despondent. I wondered all day what I could say to you that would lift your spirits and I did not feel like I had any words for you that you didn't already know. When I logged in tonight and saw your post I felt like laughing out loud (hubby asleep across the hall, so can't LOL!). I am so thrilled that you have heard from the Lord and that He has lifted your spirits and reminded you of "whence cometh your help" and who you are in Christ. And, who knows, maybe God will change the color of Secretariat!!!!! If He'd do it for anyone, it would be you, Piglet!!!!

I have prayed for each request that God would show up mightily in each person's life requesting prayer here.

My friend and I are driving from Loudoun County, VA to NC tomorrow to see a friend of ours who is very sick with cancer. She does not know we are coming, as she would tell us not to. She's been very sick for 4 months and we wanted to go see her in Dec. but she said no. This past week she ended up in the hospital for a couple of days for tests and she's home now. We've decided we're going to go down tomorrow, get a motel room and not let her know we are there Friday evening, but will call her Sat. am to see when we can stop by. I'd like prayer that she won't be too mad at us, that we will be an encouragement to her and not a drain on her, that her urinary tract infection would clear up so she can go back on her cancer drug and that the new drug would give her a better quality of life and shrink the tumors that have grown. She has a persistent hacking cough that just very rarely stops anymore and we'd love for that to be healed, too. So, however you feel led to pray for her would be good. Her name is Bette. Thank you all very much.

I can sense that I am on the verge of some great things. I don't know what, where or when, but I know He is preparing them. It's not just wishful thinking.
He has also given me something fun to do right now that takes my mind off some of the horror that has been my life for so long. Please PM me or e-mail me if you'd like the computer link, ok?

I am still working at my job. Not sure what will happen but there seems to be another plan forming. I haven't slept since this past Tuesday as I have been working on some CE credits that I thought I had to complete by last night, but found out today that I have until Monday! I only have half of the last one left, so I thought I'd try to catch up on the computer tonight and finish it tomorrow after I get off work.

I just wanted you all to know that what the Lord did with my turning point last week was not an isolated incident. While the excitement is not as bright anymore, it was the prelude to great things coming. I'm not going to run ahead of the Lord. I'm going to wait for His lead this time. It's great to be able to say that since I am sometimes so impatient with Him! I'll keep you posted. In the meantime I am so happy to still have an income!

I would like to add my mil, Naomi, for prayer. I had posted a thread because we weren't sure what was going on, but basically she has congestive heart failure with her heart only at 20% function. She is apparently a candidate for a pacemaker, but that doctor won't be "in" until Feb. 11! They might let her go home tomorrow, which we're not so sure she should. The dr. didn't even get in to talk to her until late last night--almost 9 p.m.!

The hospital she is at now has been known for 30 years for not being as competent as others...but we know it's all in the Lord's hands.

A young 9 yo boy, Josiah, is battling cancer. It isn't looking good--his kidneys are shutting down. They are considering dialysis. From what I know of it (I don't know the family personally, but this is a nephew of a family in our church), apart from the Lord there is no hope.

His mother passed away from cancer a few years ago, and I know a few weeks ago they asked for prayer because he is afraid to die. :( I am so heartbroken for this boy and his poor father. There are 3 other siblings, I believe.

My mil is back home now, and we'd like to fly my sil here to see her. She hasn't seen her since mil flew out to AZ to be with her a few years ago.

Sil works at a daycare and is grateful for the job. She thought she could get off Feb. 1-8, but now the top supervisor says she can wait until mil has the pacemaker surgery! First of all, mil won't even see the dr. about that until Feb. 11, and we don't even know if she WILL have the surgery. Secondly, sil wants to come and spend time with her mom, NOT just watch her recover!

Would you all please pray that this supervisor would have a change of heart? Sil can't afford to jeopardize her job.

I saw your first post- asking for prayer for your friend who took his life. I am going to a funeral tomorrow for a lady in our community who took her life last week. This morning I was told that my SIL who struggles with depression, pain, etc tried to take her life this weekend. Please pray. For her and for those in her community. We live 6 hrs away and are not sure how to offer support her and her family.

Nothing has really worked for his colon cancer & Chrohn's disease - he is in surgery right now to have his colon removed & will be starting more chemo after healing. His wife's invasive breast cancer that came back in her thigh last year has also returned in more bone areas. Tough, tough, tough.

I got word this afternoon that my current job is ending tomorrow.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't kind of scared. Yet another Faith-Building experience.
I must need a whole lot of that.:behave:

I did complete the CE courses I needed to in time and some agents at work are willing to mentor me as I look towards using that life license for income. It's new territory for me, but as the saying goes, you don't reach new shores w/o first raising that anchor and losing sight of the shore you have been on. (I know that is paraphrased, but I can't remember the exact quote.)

I'm believing what the Lord is leading me to will be much better than where I have been and that He will enable me and continue to supply the income I need to pay the mortgage and other bills.

I'm thankful that I have all of you praying for me and that I am not walking through these fires alone. It surely has been such a terrible rough road this past year emotionally and in so many other ways. I never imagined life would be so hard at my age, but then I guess Moses, Abraham, King David, Joseph, and so many others have said the same thing. Thank you all for being here for me and for your prayers.

I'm sorry to have to add yet another couple for prayer for divorce. A df of dh's from before I even knew him, has left his wife. We think there is another woman involved. This is an uncle to the young man I asked for prayer for a month or so ago that left his wife and two young children.

NEITHER of these men have wives that would drive them to this. The younger one I think is just being an immature jerk. This guy, though, is my dh's age. Midlife crisis, maybe? I know his wife would have more reason to leave him than vice-versa. I told dh years ago I would have taken a ball bat to this guy! Good thing *I* didn't marry him! :behave:

Anyway, thanks for the prayers. I'm beyond shocked, to say the least. I can't imagine the dw's pain. Sigh.

That is so true, Piglet--like a garden. The weeds are ever trying to encroach, sometimes little, tiny, subtle at first.

I'd like to ask for prayer for my 13 yodd. She has been running a fever but was a lot better yesterday. This morning she was really hot and then passed out when she tried to stand. She was running a 103* temp when I checked an hour and a half ago. She's resting right now, but no one thing (other than her head where it hit!) seems to be hurting. She's had a sore throat.

I have a few things to continue to pray for:

last month I posted about a local family who were in a very serious auto accident. The father lost his life, all 4 children were hospitalized. The mother sustained injuries, though not as serious as the children. Prayer for the children, as they are still in the hospital and prayer for the mom as she is battling a virus now and is not allowed to be with her children until it clears. Prayer for God's peace and comfort...this has been incredibly hard on the entire community-the father was an amazing testimony to the power of Christ.

Prayer for my father in law who has leukemia and now just learned he has prostate cancer. Please pray for healing and strength.

Prayer for my family. My husband injured himself at work in late fall. He's still off work and I am trying to work full time to help-but since I am on call I haven't been able to get full hours. Please pray for healing for my husband and for God to specifically show us whether he has closed the door on this position and if he has, that we can sell the work truck for the asking price.

The little boy I asked prayer for, Josiah, went home to be with the Lord yesterday morning. Please pray for the family--the mom passed away 2 years ago. I'm sure this is hitting them pretty hard.

My 13 yodd seems to be fine and is now being a good sick nurse to her other sisters who have come down with it! I have hardly seen my 17 yodd in two days--she's been too sick to come downstairs. The 13 yodd has been taking food up to her and bringing her cool washcloths! Such a sweetie!

I'm going to post a separate thread, but also wanted to update here--my mil's surgery went well! Dh talked to her this evening. She might get to come home tomorrow. There are people at her apartment complex willing to help. None of us can be around her right now--fighting off various stages of sickness, although we're on the upswing! Yay!

I just don't know today, what is the right thing to do. I want to do what the Lord wants me to do. I can't allow myself to be rushed into a decision. In the big picture with the Lord coming soon, it seems to not matter as much that I take this action. I sent a message thru his sis and will see how he responds when he gets it. My initial decision brought me no peace.
The Spirit of Prophecy Bulletin I get had some admonitions that were words in due season and helped me so much.
I have my bearings again and am not going to throw the towel in...I'm going to toss it UP to the Lord and let Him have it.
I know He will work things out moment by moment, day by day.
I need to work on me...improving me and being the best me I can be.

Sad news to report. The 24 y/o dtr of my oldest Sis-in-Law, who just passed on Oct 9, 2010, just passed away this past Saturday. My sweet youngest SIL, gave me the news. I had been calling her but didn't know until Sunday, when she gave me the news, that she had changed cell ph # and hadn't had time to call me sooner.

Crissy would tell my SIL that her Mom was there with her every day. (in spirit). She said she would visit with her in her dreams and she was so comforted by that. I don't understand that, but I'm glad that my SIL told me that she had prayed the salvation prayer with Crissy before she passed. My SIL told me that she passed peacefully with a smile on her face.

The family was selling BBQ plates Sunday to raise $ for the funeral/cremation. All will be well.

Thank you for your prayers. I will update the list very soon.
In the meantime I lift you all up in prayer and the Lord to bless each of you and grant your petitions.

Praise--my mil is doing much better! She still has some weakness, but compared to before the pacemaker, she is definitely better! Now if we could just get her to do some exercises vs. sitting around......

I'd like to ask for prayers for wisdom--my 13 yodd was doing better, but she still has heaviness in her chest at night and her lymph nodes are still swollen.

My sil's boss still won't let her come. I'm concerned that now that the crisis has passed, the supervisor won't see it as important to give her time off. But we know God can change the heart of the "king"!

Well, dd's harp is not looking like a good situation. :( The guy she contacted that will be coming to IN this summer said it's really not fixable. He said to bring it down to the university where he'll be, and to bring her dad, so he is probably going to show dh something to do. My guess is it will affect the sound of the harp. She is soooo bummed. Not only can she not play it for now, but it is basically worthless as far as "trading in" for another harp. She paid a little over $3,000 for it.

She would love a pedal harp, but since they start around $10,000, that's not an option!

Would you please pray that either it isn't as bad as this guy thinks it is (she sent pics, though, and her teacher said he's seen everything that can go wrong with a harp, so my guess is he's right on), and/or that God would provide a better harp or a way for her to make enough money? She has a "job" sewing hoodies for a company that sells them for autistic children, but it's not a steady income. She also teaches music lessons and makes things for Etsy, but obviously at this point, that is not making enough for her, either!

I know God is able--we bought her smaller harp and she bought this for way less than both were worth at the time! So we know He can do it again!

Prayers request, please

My almost 85 year old mom will be going to hospital tomorrow for some checks and if everything is fine her surgery is scheduled for 03/11 which is more or less evening of 03/10 in the US. They will put a prosthetic device to replace her femoral neck and possibly the socket of the hip as well. While the surgery itself is said to be pretty safe, I pray it goes well and her post-anaesthesia/post-surgery recovery goes well and quickly

Well, girls, I really need prayer. I'm also going to need that Senior Fitness DVD.
I was rearended yesterday by a pickup truck going approx 45-50 mph. That was the hardest hit I have ever taken in a car.
The body shop man said he could tell how hard the hit was because when I was thrown back into the back of the driver's seat, the back of it was bent. I went there right after the policeman was finished to see if they could help me get the seat back up straight as I don't drive slouched back.
That's when he told me.

I got great news today that they will not total my car. I was so relieved because if they did, I would not get enough money to get a decent car and it just recently had expensive repairs to stop the oil leaks.

I'm very sore and hurting. I went to a great chiropractor who will begin treatments tomorrow and will see me 3 x week to begin with.
I don't know how long it will be before I can WO. I will ask her when she thinks I can when I start to feel better. The PIP insurance will cover this.

Please pray the the Lord to heal me and to work everything out for my best.

Please also pray for my spiritual and physical protection as well as for all who pertain to me. I've endured so many "attacks" this past couple of years. The evil one does not have the victory over me or mine in Jesus' name!!! Thank You Lord!!!

We know nothing takes God by surprise...and He has a plan. I will certainly be praying for you and I'm SO glad you weren't hurt worse nor your car totalled!

When you do get back to your workouts, a tip from SF is to kick out and water break after every move. It really does help and amazingly, you still get a good workout! Of course you know you can do even fewer reps if you need to. Even 2 reps will help.

The surgery went well this morning (we are nearly 10 pm now). She is feeling fine but I will not be able to see her until tomorrow morning when she returns to her regular ward from the intense therapy department. I am now praying the rehab period goes as well.

Would like to bump up prayers for my df whose almost-18 yodd is really getting nasty. My df is expecting a baby in May and the dd is about as witchy as you could get....she really needs to get her life back on track and quit torturing everyone else. She has said awful, awful things to her parent, and ALL her siblings, including the little 3 yo sister. :(

I'm hoping this is a "it gets worse before it gets better" situation, but it is extremely tough on the entire family. I would be tempted to kick her out, but there are issues with that, too. Sigh.

Please especially pray for my df tonight--the dd is gone for awhile but she is expecting a major explosion when she comes home.

Dears, I have not been visiting for a long time since after my Mom's surgery (femoral-head and acetabulum prosthesis cup) I had been working part time and mostly from home to take care of my Mom. T-Tapp was non-existent in my life as I was too stressed/tired/exhausted. Now we are back to normal, my mom is doing incredibly great, looks 10 years younger and I .... well, I am also returning to normal taking the t-tapp/GSG challenge.

I would like to continue to ask prayers for my df's dd--the dd is now out of the home living where she is working for the summer. She was extremely out of line just a few days before she left. I can't share details, but please pray for this young woman's heart to soften. She is so self-absorbed and demanding people respect her, yet showing no respect for anyone else. I am really praying this is just the "darkest before the dawn" because my df can't handle much "worse"! My df is also due with her baby the 29th and I would appreciate prayers that all would go well. The stress has really been hard on my df.

BlessedMama, is it possible your df's dtr is bipolar? Has she been checked out or is it present anywhere else in the family? It's good that she moved out and a provision of the Lord, I'm sure, so your df can have some peace in the latter part of her pregnancy. I'll remember her in my prayers, and her dtr.

Yes, Amy, this is such a supportive group!

Piglet, I have NO DOUBT she very well may be (her grandfather is), but until she is willing to take responsibility for her actions, it is still "everybody else's fault"--especially her family's fault. It's not, really, but you know that routine. :p I am praying that the couple she is staying with will be able to minister to her in ways those of us closer to her cannot. They are a wonderful couple, no children in the home, and they are making her work for her room and board! In a kind way, of course! :)

BlessedMama, I suspected as much. My precious friend neelie, who we have been praying for after her son took his life, has a dtr who is bipolar. I need to add that situation to the prayer list. It's a very challenging thing to deal with, but someone I hope it helps them to know that it's not entirely deliberate...it's a sickness...but still so difficult to live with.

I am Joni from Japan and live near the epicenter of the huge 9.0 earthquake and tsunami. I would ask for prayer for Japan at this time. The disaster is just so huge and so many people affected. I have been working with the Samaritan's Purse which set up in my little town of Sumita, and from there go to the tsunami affected areas to clean and remove debris etc. Thanks so very much

Two prayer requests:

My 22 yodd passed out this morning--thankfully her daddy was right there so she didn't hit anything! We're not sure if it's just weakness from being on this elimination diet, if she caught a bug, both.....please pray for us to have wisdom to know how to proceed. Her fever is 101.2 right now.

Secondly, my df with the rebellious teen....well, I saw the dd's Twitter updates.....she intersperses swearing with sarcasm and making fun of her employer and her family with Scripture and quotes that don't reflect what she is saying at all. The more I read about the Gut and Psychology Syndrome, the more I'm convinced that there is a spiritual battle as well as a physical one going on, making her very Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde like. At this point no one over 20 can probably tell her anything, so please pray God will get through to her. She's a mixed up young lady. By the way, there were more disturbing things on her Twitter, what I shared is just a small bit. :(

Here's a prayer request from our sweet cbuffy for her DH on 5/19 -

My dh is changing jobs - he's an over-the-road trucker but the company he was driving with wouldn't hire our son so they could team drive. So dh changed over to ds's company. He is at orientation this week, but had retina surgery a couple of years ago and they are requesting a form from his doctor clearing him to drive.

The doctor has been out sick all week, just came back today. Deadline was 5:00. At 4:50 he filled out the papers and faxed them over. But he must have filled them out wrong or said something wrong... because dh just got word he has been disqualified.

He won't be able to talk to either the HR people or the Dr. until tomorrow morning. Prayers please that he won't worry all night long and that it will be a simple fix and everything will turn out ok. We know this is the path he is to take - but boy there have been some challenges!

Some of you may know that my husband and I, (along with our 3 kids) have been working on our new home for the past few months. We've lived in a shop for 7 years now on our property out of town while we were saving and working toward a home. It has been a long time dream of ours to build a Timber Frame, (mortise and tenon, no nails) home but everywhere we looked, it was going to cost hundreds and thousands of dollars. Last year we found a man willing to do apprenticeships to teach people how to build their own frame. We started working with him on plans and God just brought it all together. This past March we started cutting our frame, (from timbers my husband logged, the local man milled) and now we're having an old fashioned "house raising" tomorrow!

We would covet your prayers for safety for the 75+ people coming, no mistakes, and GOOD WEATHER! :clappinghands:

Please pray for the 4 year old granddaughter of a very dear friend of mine. She woke up a week ago last Saturday screaming because she couldn't see.
Today, she is in Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta having been diagnosed with a brain tumor. The MRI revealed that it is NOT in the spine. To relieve
pressure until surgery they will drill a hole in her skull. She is confined to her bed because her balance is off. They will do surgery either Monday or
Wednesday of next week. Her name is Lila Claire. Thank you so much, this family has been through so much already. Lila's mama just came through
breast cancer a year ago.

Thanks so much for the prayers...We are feeling better, only dh is still down. (We had 3 pnuemonia and near pnuemonia) 2 with influenza and a bacterial infection, and one who is feeling great!

Please continue to pray for Japan and only 1% of Japanese are Christians but that they will step up!

An update on 22 yodd--she is doing much better! Still a bit weak but doing more and feeling better.

Prayer request--my mil (dh's step-mom) was just diagnosed with leukemia. They have only given her 4 months to live, although we know she is in God's hands!

They will not be doing any treatments due to her very weak condition. She doesn't expect to get out of the hospital. :(

Please pray for her to not suffer and for us to accept God's will, whatever He decides.

Precious Joni, thank you so much for sharing the recent photos from Japan. Were you in any of them? As I looked at all of them a few times, I wondered where all the debris is being taken. Is there more than one landfill or is it being burned or what? It's overwhelming to look at and yet, the Spirit of the Lord is so evident in the smiling faces of all the people working together! :clappinghands:

As I looked at the building that was spared being demolished by the cruise ship, I heard the "still small voice" calling it to my attention....that it was spared. What is that building? I was also so impressed at how strong the construction is of the buildings that are supporting the huge trucks on their balconies!

It warmed my heart that you are all taking the time for some recreation, too. That is so essential in the midst of all the work before you. I'm sure the Lord is there overseeing all.

I just want to let you all know that the weird stuff that is happening with the prayers/praise posts has been reported.
It just happens automatically when I make the updates. The bullets and fonts and font sizes get changed.

He appealed to the White House for disaster relief and was refused. August 6th at the Reliant Stadium in Houston the Governor is having a prayer rally! I thought I had posted this prayer request, so I'll share this Praise Report anyway!
My weekend job schedule had been cut and the hours changed on one day, which was creating problems. I prayed about it and the Lord came through!!! :clappinghands::clappinghands::clappinghands:
The hours were changed back to what I can do and a day of work was added!!

Now I only need 2 more days to be back to the usual number of days I work without losing any pay.

Also, I hadn't asked for prayers for my little Oblio, but I ask for healing prayers for him now. My vet prescribed a homeopathic remedy that is working, Praise the Lord!!! It's taking some time, but we are moving in the right direction! Please keep him in your prayers, too. Thanks so much!!! He's my "little boy" and means so much to me!

Hi Trisch. I'm so happy to hear about your DF's dtr!!! Praise the Lord. Yes, there are ups and downs and times when it seems like nothing is happening. But when those times come we can be sure that our God...our Heavenly Father, is up to something!

I can truly relate to times of walking out change! I am struggling to get back into my T-Tapp habit. My body is aching so much and I walk bent over like someone decades older than I am. It's discouraging to feel the limitations I'm feeling.

I feel in a state of flux. I have a feeling big things are going to start happening and I need to prepare somehow. I need prayers to tackle 2 mountains in my life but what is most needed is for me to be personally strengthened and encouraged so I can start strengthening my self discipline. I know King David encouraged himself, but there were also so many times when the people around him rallied around him and helped him rise up again. That is where I am.

I do have a praise and that is that I have 5 extra days of work this month! I hope more are coming soon. Please pray a hedge of protection around me as I have seen the "little foxes" at work.

My precious grandson is having his fourth open heart surgery this Thursday. He is only three years old.

I am feeling sad and worried this week. He already suffers adverse emotional effects from all the medical treatments he has endured. So not only am I concerned for his surgery and physical health, but I feel heartsick knowing how scared he is going to be as soon as he enters the hospital. Any sort of medical staff or medical facility puts him in a panic mode. It is hard to see a child so young have to suffer.

I hate asking strangers to pray for me but this is for him. I feel like most of my "friends" in "real life have totally forgotten about this date. My husband is working out of state and I feel alone. I don't want to burden my daughter with my feelings because I know she is going through something awful. I try to be cheery and upbeat when she calls.

I think I needed to unload a bit here.... I believe in the power of prayer. There were so many accidents, disasters, and mistakes made when he was first born, it is truly a miracle that he is still with us. I know God has a plan for his life. It is still hard, though.

It has been 3 months since the earthquake and tsunami. It has been a hard 3 months, and learning new normals is always a challenge.

I would like to continue to ask for prayer for my dh and his depression as well as finding a new job. He was forced out right before the earthquake and so has been without employment this whole time.

Please continue to pray for Japanese Christians to step up, now that it is not on the news much anymore, people not affected have pretty much returned to their lives and many here feel very forgotten. Most of the people in evac centers have been moved into temp housing and those left should be out by August. This has caused some problems also, for though they are allowed to live in these homes for 2 yrs rent free, they have to pay for food and utilities and many have lost their jobs.They are now in places where they dont know the people around them and have to learn how to live in a new area. Here in Sumita it is very rural and we have one tiny, tiny supermarket is all. (more like the size of 1/2 of a convenience store) Many also have a victims mentality now, they have been taken care of for 3 months in the shelters, food provided clothing provided bedding and they didnt have to lift a finger, and now many expect that treatment to continue. I have come into some extremely rude people as I have been sharing things that I have with those people, and they expect MORE, and have been very demanding and EXPECT me to help them. It is heartbreaking and so sad. I was walking nearby the temp housing recently and one older lady came up to me and demanded to know what I was going to give her. I said that I was sorry but I didnt have anything to share with her and she huffed off and was very angry with me!

When they moved in to the temp housing, they were provided with 6 appliances, frig, tv, stove, etc...and bedding and some other basics (all provided by money sent by the International Red Cross) and there is clothing that they can go get from the warehouses with donations of clothing etc...
Unfortunately the money that was donated by the people in American isnt being used well and only 1/8 of it has been used to help those in need, it has been given to the local cities, and they are not getting it to help people, but instead using it for other things which is sooo sad and upsets me!I told people to donate to the Red Cross, but am regretting that now...for it is being used to pay volunteers and pay for salaries of city hall workers and other things that are totally unneccessary and not what it should be doing...some communities are putting the money aside for future disasters !

anyway...I have written a book, but please continue to pray for Japan, and our family! thanks so much

Oh, Joni! I'm so sorry this is happening!

I will continue to pray for Japan--it's frustrating to me because I can't find much in the news without a major hunt, and even that isn't very helpful. Thank you for sharing and letting us know what is going on. We know God is even bigger than city hall corruption and He is in the business of changing hearts....I pray these people will realize and be grateful for all that has been done for them and consider it's time to step up and do what they can.

I would appreciate your prayers. I was gardening (crawling on my hands and knees pulling weeds) and evidently my shirt slid up a little in back and I didn't know it and I got a horrible sunburn. I was outside for a few hours and I'm very fair complected. I got burned so bad it blistered. It's getting better but still pretty painful.

I want to thank everyone who has been praying for my grandson and family. I can't explain the feeling of peace I felt knowing that even those who don't personally know us, cared enough to pray. You guys really touched my heart.

Gs has been in surgery all morning but they are on the tail end of things now. So far so good. Things have been going well. The next few days are going to be rough. Post surgery has more complications and is more uncomfortable than going through the actual procedure. It is made worse by the fact that these kids are too young to understand what has happened and why it is important to stay calm/still etc.

We are all glad to be getting this over with!

Asking prayers for my df again--the one whose dd had been rebellious. Her dd asked their forgiveness a few weeks ago (PTL!), but now the weight of all the stress my df was under is really hitting her. She just had a baby, did a graduation open house, then the baby wouldn't have a bm, and isn't gaining as well. I truly believe my df is in major adrenal exhaustion, she looks soooo sallow and pale. She isn't eating well, and now her in-laws expect her to do a lot for their upcoming-at-the-end-of-the-month 50th anniversary celebration. My df can't say no, and today I really got after her (she's like a little sister!). She just WON'T listen, keeps trying to do everything for everyone....I am really concerned that she is going to crash big time. At least then she'll HAVE to lie flat because she won't be able to get out of bed!!! If she doesn't kill herself first! :behave:

Pray for me to be gracious, but I am seriously contemplating taking her out (without her phone!) so I can talk to her straight and tell her where she's headed and what it will do to her family. I think she likes being needed, but she is going to "be needed" to death if she doesn't heed these warning signs! She had a VERY scarey incident last night and still came to a wedding today. Sigh.

I am not sure why I am putting this here. I don't really need your prayers but I just thought I'd mention I probably won't be around here for awhile.

My dear, sweet mother passed away last Monday (two days ago). Obviously, I have not been following my exercise schedule. My stomach is still too sick and my mind is racing. I am just going through the motions of basic life and getting ready to travel for the funeral. There is a lot to do.

It's just hard. Even if you know that someone you love is in a better place, it does not take away all of the pain.

I wonder if you or anyone could tell me about Barefoot T-Tapp? I am wondering if it is close to the MORE WO but without shoes? I would think it would be slower paced than the TWO with shoes?

I truly appreciate all your prayers. There is so much I am contending with right now.

If you all will begin to share your prayer requests again, I will do a much better job of keeping up with it again and it will help me visit the T-Tapp forums more regularly again.

I don't have that one, but from what I've read on the forums it's like BWO+ but without shoes. She gives special tips for activating without shoes since you normally would always wear shoes when T-Tapping. I've heard really good things about it.

While I'm on here I have a prayer request. My husband hurt his knee a couple of weeks ago. He's self employed and we have a high deductible insurance plan so pretty much anything he has done we'll have to pay for. Our chiropractor thinks he tore his quadricep and if that's the case he'll need surgery to fix it. We have the name of a specialist, but he's been stalling on going. Please pray for complete healing so he won't need surgery. He does construction work, so having a bad knee is not a good thing.

Barefoot Basic is considered a full workout due to the muscle activation. It is basically BWO+ barefoot, but with many form tweaks to make it beneficial to do it barefoot.

I can understand where you are, Lisa. I don't have any health insurance either. But I can tell you that the Lord is truly our Great Physician. He has healed my gums in 2 places after I lost 2 molars...one last Christmas Eve anNd one 9/16. No stitches, yet in just a couple of days the holes were closed up and just fine. All glory to Him!

My body is healing more slowly after the car accidents, but the Lord knows why and His agenda is perfect.

I'm sure He will heal your husband, too. He is Faithful!

I'd like to ask prayer for our neighbor. My 14 yodd saw out their window, which faces the road, that he was lying back on his front deck--not a usual thing for him! He is a brittle type 1 diabetic, and his dw wasn't home, so I went over to check on him. He had gotten a bit dizzy and lay back, but then couldn't get up again. He thought we weren't home because both our vans are gone. Anyway, he wasn't sounding "okay" at first, but wouldn't let me call 911 or take him to the dr. or ER. After a little while of talking, he seemed more normal. He promised he'd call if he needed anything. I called the next door neighbor to him, an older pastor who also keeps an eye on him and told him what went on. I figured between the two of us we could make sure he's okay!

Anyway, please pray he'll be okay, and also pray that God could work in his life and his family. There's so much dissension and hurt feelings between everyone, it's tough.

I wanted to give an update on dh. We went to the specialist yesterday just to make sure there wasn't anything really wrong. He's still having quite a bit of pain and swelling. They took an xray and told us that he had fractured his knee cap. That's not a good thing, but they said it is healing nicely and he doesn't need to have anything further done. The doctor couldn't get over it. He kept telling him how lucky he was (we know it wasn't luck). It is a huge load off our minds that he won't have to have surgery. Thanks so much for your prayers! Please continue to pray for complete healing!

My neighbor seems to be fine. Thankfully no more dizzy spells while he's outside!

I posted a thread for another df's dd but I'll post it here, too. Their 8 yodd had to have an appendectomy, and the appendix burst while they were removing it. Of course they took all precautions for infection, but apparently there was some resistant stuff so she is back in the hospital. They had to do surgery again due to scar tissue and for some reason her intestines were twisted or blocked--due to the scarring or infection I'm not sure. She can't eat or drink anything yet and is still in ICU although doing well otherwise. Please pray that things will settle down in her tummy so she can eat and drink and be a normal 8 yo girl!

I have another request too. Yesterday my lower back started acting up on me. About 8 years ago I had surgery for a herniated disk, but my back really has been good since then. I had one episode last summer but other than that I've been ok, besides occasional stiffness. Well yesterday I was doing T-Tapp and I got this pain in my lower back and it's been hurting ever since. I'd appreciate your prayers!

How are you all doing? Any prayer or praise updates?

I've been so busy with a big church event last weekend, dr appts, Nov work (Praise the Lord!!! :clappinghands:)

My body is still feeling so sore after I work on the weekend. My Mom who is 30+ years older than me moves with more agility sometimes! If I had steady work with this contract year round, I could quit the weekend petstore job. But with the economy as it is, and at my age, I just need to keep all my jobs for now.

Lisa, how is your DH's leg? I hope he's doing MUCH better! And how is your lower back? I can relate to that after my car accidents.

BlessedMama, how is the little one doing? And your neighbor?

My SIL and 4 of her dtrs, her DH and a Sis came to the church svc & festival last Sat. I was so glad she did. Please continue praying that they will come and get baptized and keep coming.

Well, I need to turn in. The desire is greatly in my heart to WO...I just have been so pressed for time lately and have so much decluttering to do to have a clear space to WO in.

My df's dd had to go back into the hospital for some complications and more surgery, but she is home and doing much better now! AND she's a new aunt--her oldest sister just had her second baby!


My neighbor seems to be okay. He's so bad about getting anything checked out or telling his wife, though! :p

Hi, Piglet! My lower back is doing great now and dh is much better too! His knee isn't totally 100% yet, but he's WAY better!

I have another prayer request too. A friend of mine from church just found out that her 14 yo granddaughter has an inoperable tumor on her pituitary gland. Please pray for that to just disappear. Also, the 14 yos mom (my friends daughter) is having an especially tough time with this because her best friend just died of cancer about a week before they found out about her dd.

Yes, I'm so thankful for this work. From how it looks now, there will be work through Februray at least, although the volume has not been determined yet. I do pray the Lord will show them a need for the team of people, of which I am one, that they are using now so we can have work all year long. This is great work that maximizes my potential more than my other job does. I will add that to the next Prayer updates.

Lisa, you didn't say if the dr's know whether the tumor is malignant or not? Yes, I will pray for the tumor to vanish forever! Praise the Lord! I will add her and her Grandmother to the prayer list in the next update, too.

Hi Please pray! Dh started the new job a little over a month ago, after almost a year of being out of work. He said this morning that he does'nt know if he wants to continue. He has been working 7 days a week, coming home at 3 am, leaving at 7am, though some days it has been 5am.Lot of travel, many overnight trips.
I know in my heart that God will take care of us as he did last year, but I am feeling fearful. Guess it is good that I havent gotten used to any money coming in, since it hasn't come in yet!!! Last year with everything with the earthquake and tsunami and the ramifications of all of that....I am just hoping for a little smooth sailing for a while...thanks for praying and talking me through this.

I did tell my dh that I would support him with whatever he decides, but I am not sure my heart was in the words. It took me kind of by surprise when he just mentioned it as he was leaving this a.m. I have been praying but honestly am feeling a little panicy, which shows just how weak my faith is. I know God took care of us this past year and blessed us in so many ways, why would I doubt he would not continue, what is it that I am fearful of??????????

Hello everyone,

This is the first time I'm posting here (at least that I can remember). I have a prayer request please. My father is ill but we are not sure from what yet. There was a lot of blood in his urine (plus it hurt) and he was feeling light-headed. He went to emergency yesterday (Friday) morning and he was given some antibiotics. His hemoglobin is low. He saw his doctor in the afternoon and he has to go for an ultrasound for his kidneys tomorrow morning (he is diabetic). My Dad is home now and my step-mom is ministering to him. He said his urine is clear now and I was so relieved (I spoke to him when I was at work) but when I texted my step-mom later, she said he had a fever of 108 so I'm worried. I'm trying to trust the Lord and accept whatever his will is. I don't know what His will is for my Dad's health but I know it's his will that my Dad be saved (which he isn't) because it says so in His Word. I lost my Granny last year and I don't want to lose my Dad so soon. It's too soon and I'd feel so alone without him. I know the Lord Jesus is always with me and if it is God's will that my Dad's life should end then I know I will not bear it alone. But I know I can pray with faith that he be saved because I know for certain that is the will of God. I'm sorry if I'm running on or going all over the place. Here is my request

Please pray first, that my Dad be saved and reconciled to God. And secondly, pray that God will restore my Dad to good health. Thank you everyone.

Hello everyone. I am so overcome with grief because my precious baby boy Oblio went to Heaven today at 12:30 pm CST. Now he is with his brother Arrow who passed on November 24, 2007. He was my only company. I miss so much his greeting me at the door. He had a very hard passing as he had a seizure that lasted 10-15 seconds which seemed like an eternity in my arms. I had a prayer rep on the line with me who stayed with us. I keep asking myself if I held him wrong or if I should have held him at all. Did I do something I shouldn't have or not did something I should have at the right time? I will miss them both until I die. : (

Piglet, I haven't been to this thread in a long time as I'm not on the forums that much. I do always look to see if you have posted anywhere, though, when I am on. I am so, so sorry that you lost Oblio. I pray that your faith will remain strong and that God will give you His peace during your time of grieving. I am just really so sorry.

We were together 14 yrs and 5 months. It was like losing a child for me. Now I am all alone at home. The emptiness is so profound. His brother Arrow went to Heaven 5 yrs and 3 mo ago. Oblio had this growth on his private area but it didn't seem to bother him too much. I had a vet look at him who said there was nothing he could do about it since it was so near his little organ. We tried a homeopathic remedy but after 10-12 treatments it was getting so painful for him and didn't seem to be improving it, so I switched to a different natural treatment that helped, but not enough. He didn't start declining until a couple of weeks ago when he stopped eating and kept drinking water, but then last week he no longer drank water out of his bowl, so I was giving him water with a syringe (w/o the needle) and doing all I could to get him to eat. He used to weigh 12.5-13 lbs and he lost down to 11 lbs. That is a lot for a little dog. Arrow's passing was so easy that I did not expect Oblio's to be hard. I can't write any more details right now. It's too painful. They were so loveable and such a huge blessing in my life and I'm grateful for every moment we had together, but I still miss them so much and wish the Lord would have healed them both.

Someday I may get another dog, but for now, I just need to get things cleaned and decluttered before I could think of welcoming another dog. If I do, I will go the dog pound and save another, as we did Arrow & Oblio.

My Dad always used to say that dog spelled backwards is God. Their unconditional love resonates with this.

Right now I don't see how I'll ever be happy again. The grief is so deep. Oblio will be cremated tomorrow. When I die I want them both buried with me, in the coffin if I get to have one.

Losing my precious Oblio is the closest I will come to losing a son. I miss him so much. I still can't just turn off the lights and go to sleep. I used to stay up with him to watch him and make sure he had what he needed. We spent most of our time in the bedroom on the bed together. I gave him water with a syringe as often as I could and cleaned up after him. He would go all the way downstairs and I would watch him so he would come back upstairs so we could stay together where I could watch him. It's harder now than when his brother, my other little son, passed Nov 24, 2007. At least I still had Oblio. Now I'm alone. I hate to come upstairs when I come home because he is not there to greet me at the door. I regret every moment I had to work or be away from him.

Thank you so much for your prayers. It will take a long time for me to get back to the things of life. I have so much house work to catch up on. I need to get my home in order before my seasonal work starts up again in July. I have had major car repairs lately and also have an expensive ticket to deal with this week. It was only 47 in a 35, but it's very expensive since it was over 10 mph over. Please pray for the Lord's mercy in this.
