I hardly ever post but thought that whatI am experiencing now might be of help to someone else

I have been tapping on and off since 2001. (I think) Although I really always thought Ttapp was terrific I never lost any significant amount of weight or inches. It aways kept me fit, firm and maintained my flexibility even better than yoga. In fact I liked better than yoga in some ways cause in demanded concentration which makes it almost meditative. And Ttapp arms are the best looking things around!

So I would quit but I always came back for the Ttapp "fix". Well this time is different. I am not dieting. I eat what I want and stop when I am full. I started w/ BWO+ every day. EOD I would do cardo. After awhile I worked up to doing a full WO EOD. At first I chose Ladybug or Tempo. Now I like Torso or the first halves of Maxi 1 or 2 mixed in EOD. (They're shorter!) I do cadrio EOD for 1/2 hr on the off days.

Here's the thing. THIS IS SO MUCH LESS THAN I WAS DOING BEFORE. That is the difference. And it is the biggest difference in the world. It is like I am losing everyday. I eat something that is "bad" , usually two somethings, and expect that the next day I will pay. Instead my jeans are getting looser. I think the difference is just that I am totally paying complete attention to form. I can do it now because I am doing less. Every move I do I try to do to the max. It's not pretty! I think I am finally using leverage and the push/pull idea.

As I have said before, I wish I listend, processed, and internalized this information before. I was doing so many things wrong. I have the Retreat dvd and I practice one move at a time. I wasn't losing because I wasn't really doing Ttapp. Wow am I a slow learner or what.

When I started losing I was so surprised. In fact i was almost worried that I was sick because I had never lost weight/inches like this before! I still remain amazed and want to stay on this ride forever!

hope this has not been too boring.

Boring?! NO way! Thank you so much for sharing! The "less is more" concept is really tough to accept, but as you have proven--IT WORKS! :clappinghands:

THIS WASN'T BORING!! It was INSPIRING!! Thank you for sharing! It is good for me to hear, because technically I am still near the beginning of my T-Tapp experience, and it's good to know that the most important thing to concentrate on is form and consistency!! ;oD

So when you say cardio every other day...what kind of cardio are/were you doing?

Congrats on loosing inches!!

Definitely NOT boring. I am finding out the same thing. As long as I REALLY pay attention to form and apply the principles, less IS more.

Awesome testimony to just keep persevering. Be consistent, go to your max, and let T-Tapp do it's thing!

Hi Kacey,

That all sounds great and i get what you say about each move to your max. I feel like I keep rediscovering that little detail ;-) Also interspersing with cardio is interesting. I find I lose weight and inches best if I do treadmill or elliptical or something that keeps my heart rate up for a sustained period of time. I know others find that with T-Tapp but I don't (yet). Probably back to the max comment.

Well, Pat, you could add the suicidal "Lannette's Kick Buns" version of BWO+!!!

I only did the extras "every two moves" vs. every other move! :help:

Now THAT is cardio! ;)

I read on the web that it is better to do short workouts than it is to do long ones, because the shorter ones help you burn fat better, and the longer ones just put extra stress on your body. The articles I have read applied to all types of exercise. I don't know if it is true, but I have been finding that the shorter workouts with days in between are working for me better (also, because of my health problems, I have no choice). I find that when I do too much, or for too long at a time, it makes me eat more later, whether consciously or sub-consciously (thinking I deserve it, or if my body needs extra, etc.). On the off days, now I am stepping in place for 5-10 minutes (when I am not dizzy), or doing sitting hoedowns. I try to do OIP and Ladybug POP every night before bed, and I think that is helping too. I just read a post that a tapper went on vacation and only did TTN and hoedowns, and she lost inches. That probably also fits in with the less is more philosophy, and it makes sense. A tapper here was doing TWO five days a week, and wasn't losing. Years ago, I worked out for at least an hour a day and wasn't losing. Maybe stressing your body each day for so long actually works against you. So, yes, less is more!

Isn't it funny how we "discover" what Teresa has been saying all along? LESS REALLY IS MORE! But you just gotta find it out for yourself.

Congratulations on the breakthrough! Now get out there and DO LESS! (grin)
