Where is this move initiated? Is it all from the stomach or is it also from the elbow to get the shoulder off the ground? I feel like if I use my stomach, it's more of a jerk off the ground and not smooth. Is that okay?

Ahhhh! That's a tough one!

You are initiating it in your abs/obliques, and tighten lats as you come up. It is NOT how high you get off the ground. If you can't even get that shoulder off the ground, but are in the ab muscles, that's good! I have one side I can't get very far off the ground with, and the other is much better!

Also, think to aim the collarbone to knee, not the elbow. And plant those feet! I think it was Kirsten advised me to bring the feet closer to the buns to help.

One more tip--make sure you are pushing the knee that is crossed away as you come up.

Stay in the abs vs. thinking about how high and see if that makes a difference!
