I have had the TTAPP book and tapes for nearly 5 years and I've been a silent onlooker of the forums and website a couple of times a week for the last 5 years also. I have gained probably 40 lbs. in that time by just observing. I am tired, fat, depressed and it's time to do something positive in my life. I commit today to start and to become the woman I know that is hiding. Wish me luck!!!!!

Kudos to you for getting started! I'm new here too. I've always HATED exercise - but knew I needed to do something. Now I LOVE t-tapp and just ordered another workout. That's really saying something for me - LOL! I love the forums, too. Hope to "see" you here often.

Your story sounds alot like mine! I bought, watched, tapped, listened watched, stopped, started, lost 4 sizes and gained back 2-3 of them. I too have recommited myself. If you would like to challenge each other - I'm in!

Great decision and hooray for you that you made it! The act of joining anything is such a big step - announcing your intention, daring to risk something, committing to a group / regime / approach.

Good for you!

You can do it!!! I have been a long lurker and finally started my journey last week...it's already worth it!
Everyone on the forums is very sweet and helpful, I feel out of touch if I don't check in daily. Good luck and welcome!!

What do you do when your life seems so busy and when you get home you are so tired? I drag myself home and I have no desire to do anything. I can't decide if its a habit gone terribly wrong or if I am indeed lazy!

You lace up your shoes and say, "I only have to do PBS!" And usually you feel good enough to go on and do plies. Then you might as well do Reach Scoops. And.... ;)

But even if you stop after PBS, you've done something!

Lace up those shoes! :D

BlessedMama is right, just lace up and do it anyway. I understand the too tired to do anything, I am a single mom with two girls, I work and go to school full-time. When I come home I am so tired I just want to sit my fat rear down and not get up lol! I just change and tell myself I can either do this or be fat and miserable for the rest of life, I've done that for tooooo many years now and I decided I was important enough to take time for. So just tell yourself you are worth at least 15minutes a day.
Good Luck!!!

I actually appreciate your insight. I really have nothing to complain about and just need to get busy.
Thank you!

I actually appreciate your insight. I have nothing to complain about compared to what you are doing. And I think I will just start, it doesn't matter how much I accomplish; other than I just started!!!!
Thanks to all!

I have been replacing my naps with TTAP and have been amazed that when done, I don't miss my nap. Nap time is very sacred to me (as a mom of littles) so to be able to give them up is saying a lot!

Hi. Glad to see someone else is starting today. I'm wondering about the food part, though. I've seen many comments about fasting and the cleansing diet. I hope that alot of you out there have gotten your results by doing the GMDs and MMDs that are talked about in the book. I saw Charlotte's video clip and would love to know what she followed. I know I am supposed to focus on the exercise part first, but I had to stop the crazy eating I was doing. So I'm trying exercise and food changes together.

Thanks for any advice!

I agree with just7-post often. Posting helps me to realize that I need to be accountable to someone else. And with BlessedMama too-just tell yourself you are going to do....and do it! You can you know!

dinoterp, I know Teresa advocates just focusing on the workout the first 30 days or so. It's easy to get overwhelmed trying to change your eating, too!

I did try the GM/MM when I started T-Tapp. I was nursing full time and was SO hungry and had a hard time. Kirsten advised I eat breakfast and lunch GM then eat with my family. We eat fairly well, but I still ate more breads and pasta than I do now.

I am an emotional eater, so it has been a longer road for me. I have never been an advocate of "dieting" or deprivation as it is counterproductive. I knew the changes had to be long-lasting. Just like T-Tapp!

Fast forward 3 years--I've made small choices along the way--less bread and pasta, lower glycemic foods when I can, more veggies, less sweets, got off run-of-the-mill chocolate....and this past month I have been dairy and sugar free!

But it was a progression. So do what you can, but don't be hard on yourself. Baby steps!

HTH!

Just wanted to put in a good luck and "yes you can!" Believe it when you hear that your life can all change with just 15 min. a day. And like so many have said if all you do is PBS you are on your way!:clappinghands:

You've gotten some good answers already, but another approach would be to work out a different time of day. Some people find that if they do their workout first thing in the morning there are fewer things getting in the way (like making dinner). I try to do BWO+ or SATI in the morning. If I have time/energy for something else later in the day, fine -- but at least I've gotten something done.

Another strategy I've used is to work out on the weekends. Obviously two weekend workouts isn't enough, but if I make sure I work out those two days, when there are fewer time-sensitive demands on my time, then I only have to fit in one or two other days during the week to get my "minimum" in.
