I have been doing Tempo 15 reps and just love it. This week I added in AL + DD from the try before you buy. Now it is getting nice here in PA and so I have also been doing some walking. What is the correct form I should use to walk to get the best results from my walks? Because here we are the middle of March and my body is not ready for swimsuit season. I did check my measurements last Saturday and in 9 days I had lost 10.5 lbs and was oh so happy:). I have not stepped on the scale at all I figure I will when I can fit back into my favorite jeans.
Thanks for any advice.:help:
Peg

but I know there is a BWO tempo and also the TWO one.
And 15 reps is the regular tempo or you add some reps?

I am so sorry I posted pounds when I really meant inches. I lost 10.5 inches after 9 workouts. I am doing T-Tapp Tempo Intermediate 10 reps.

Boy did I ever mess up this posting:behave:

So sorry if I confused anyone.

Baaahhh... the CONGRATS is still ON don't worry :D
10.5 inches in 9 days is as good as pounds for me. the important part is you are happy! that's the only thing that counts (for me).

Okay so there is a T-Tapp Tempo Intermediate also?
wow.. !. BWO tempo, TWO tempo, and there is a Tempo intermediate
I think I have a headache :D

Thanks and don't worry Peg
(*you know you can "edit" your post, right?)

Step Away The Inches (SATI) is a walking workout that teaches you the correct form to use when you are walking. AND it is a FANTASTIC little workout for those days when it's too yucky to go outside. (too hot. too cold. too windy. too .... whatever... LOL)

But Cbuffy, do you walk knees bend, tuck, big toes up, etc. ?

It's okay inside as I am on a carpet but outside? ouff.. don't know .
and walking this way ahahah.. that will be fun to see the others looking at me !! ahahahha (not that I am not used to it!)

I have tried Monday when I went outside for the walk, to keep my big toes up and boy it's not easy as I move forward, I don't stay stable on my little carpet.

Think of how you walk down a hill. You tuck a little (not as much as in the SATI). Try to get knees straight with your stride.

If you can walk in some dirt or sand, you will be able to tell if you duck out at all. I have one foot that tends to duck out! I actually feel pigeon-toed when I aim my toes, but I'm really not!

This thread on duck feet might help---read Dantheman's tips!

I lost 3/4 inch in each lower thigh as well as 1/4 inch in each upper in ONE WEEK of walking like this!

(Dan's is about the 4th post or so).

Peg, are you just new to the forums or new to T-Tapp, too? I just wondered since you are doing Tempo!

Hope the walking info helps!

I am new to T-Tapp. Today was my 11th workout. Am I doing something wrong?

No, just curious! Usually the trainers advise starting with the Instructionals for a few weeks, then the Total, then you can bump up. The problem comes in when we move too fast and don't really have the muscle activation down yet. The Instructionals help establish that mind-to-muscle connection as well as teach you the moves (which is why you're supposed to hold position along with the "team" while Teresa teaches and talks! ;) )

That's why the Tempos (Tempo Arms, Tempo Torso and Tempo Lower Body) aren't available in the store until they have you on file as owning Basic Workout, MORE or Total. I guess I'm not sure how that applies to Tempo 2 (the one you probably have)!

I would revisit the Instructionals to make sure you are activating. I personally backed off from the Tempos for awhile because I was moving too fast and losing form. I go in spurts! :)

Keep us posted on how you are doing!

I walk approx 3 miles out in the woods nearly every day. Here in Florida, "out in the woods" means sugar sand. (think powder snow, but hot. LOL) I try to use good form all the time, which includes rolling your shoulders back and activating the lats. Pulling the belly button in and UP. Keeping your chest up. Slightly tucking your butt (which happens almost automatically when you position your belly button). Making sure to keep your feet FORWARD (no ducks - thanks for the sand tip Trish, I drive my son nuts, I'm always stopping and checking my footprints behind me! LOL) and straightening the back leg and really PUSHING off.

I get so much more from my walks now than I did before! I jazz my toes and try to keep the weight off my big toe when I remember, but with all the other body tweeks, I'm constantly running a "body scan" up and down my body to make sure everything in where it's supposed to be. Much more mindful than just sauntering down the trail. (although I do that too - sometimes you just need a break! LOL)
