I can't do it! The part of the TWO where you get into the runner's stretch (tighten and release, tighten and release...hear her singing?) I can't do it!

This is the only part of the video that I cannot do, and it's only because I can't touch the floor with my arms. I would be able to, except my belly gets in the way :(

Lately I've been doing the runner's stretch next to the couch, and I just put my arm on the couch instead of on the floor to do the runner's stretch, but I'm not sure if this is the best solution?

Any suggestions?

Jeanne had us use yoga blocks at our clinic... Not sure about the alignment of reaching forward to the couch - I'm sure a trainer will pop by and give you better advise.

Good for you, though, for getting creative and not just quitting!

I can understand your frustration. I have short arms and my lower stomach gets in my way as well and I cannot reach the floor without curling my back. What has helped me is to use yoga blocks (or two books the same size if that's all you have). I put my front foot in between the blocks and my hands up on the blocks and that allows me to keep myself in better alignment!

HTH!:)

I have tiny little kangaroo arms, long legs, and an elbow injury. Even yoga blocks don't do it for me -- I can't safely put weight on outstretched arms. On Lani's advice I've been using two chairs, one on each side, with my forearms on the seat.

I usually have my clients use yoga blocks as well for this type of situation. (I have gotten some at Target) They are in the shape of rectangles. I would rather see you have something on either side of your body for stability and balanced muscle activation. Let us know how you are doing with this.
