Hi there
I have been working out with t-tapp for two months mostly with TWO and SATI. I actually have been working out for more than a year but with other workouts so was quite fit when I started T-Tapp. IT has helped me with health issues and flexibility but when I measured my butt it had gone from 35 to 37 inches. The funny thing is my butt is very hard now and is rounded, it used to be flat and soft. I have build muscles I guess but what can I do to keep the muscles but bring my butt back to 35 inches again. Another thing is that my upper thigh has increased in inches and my inner thighs are rubbing against each other. Something I had never experienced before. I never had big thighs or bumps so what am I doing wrong with the workouts. Do I need to add in more cardio to burn the fat. All suggestions welcome.
Thanks:(

I'm no expert or anything. But I do remember on SATI Teresa saying to make sure you straighten your leg completely with each step to avoid increasing inches. And also making sure that butt is tucked!

I too have gotten a rounder, firmer back side but I am liking it even if the inches aren't as low as I like yet. It is like things are rearranging for the better.

I'm sure there will be much more great advice to come from others.

Give me a 37" round hard butt over a 35" soft one any day!;)

Jen is correct...make sure you get the legs straight and tight with each step. This also applies to Plies. I would suggest you read through some of the things here: http://forum.t-tapp.com/showthread.php?t=57929 That apply to SATI and Plies if you haven't already.

Another move that really targets the thighs/inner thigh/buns is the Crab Claw move found on the Critter Crunch dvd.

I would also add that you just give it more time. T-Tapp seems to resculpture the body and it's an ongoing thing. What you are seeing now may change over the next few months.

If you have gained in the thighs, I have read on the forums here that that can be due to not tightening the thighs and keeping them tightened on Plies and Lunges. Sometimes we release a little at the top or at the bottom of the move. I know that it is an ongoing pregression for me.

During SATI, I found that if I Curled my Core HARD and took almost a Stepping/Marching step where I straightened my leg each time AND tightened my thighs as I was stepping, then I started to lose on my thigh measurements.

Are you sure your buns aren't lifting? That happens, too. Messes with the ab measurements something awful!!!

And after 2 1/2 years I realized I was still releasing just a tad at the top of the thigh in plies and lunges. Curling the core more helps as well as the other tips you've gotten.

It's like playing the violin--you get better, get a better instrument, and then you can't "cheat" as much on tone! So you start T-Tapp, form is important but its' not as critical to get each and every nuance...you get a stronger body and more muscle memory---and now the body ups the ante! It demands more attention to form!

And here we go again!

Which is why you never need more than 8 reps or weights or anything else--your body becomes your machine! ;)

Our goal: to be a multi-million dollar, finely tuned and highly sensitive violin!!! Er...body!!!! :D

Hi All:hello2:
I am having the exact same issues as shamita. I work out to BWO+ and SATI EOD. I blame a little of the inch gain in those areas on the holidays, I'm getting back on track with my way of eating. I am working hard on watching my form during the workouts for fear of gaining inches. But... here is my question: how can you gain inches in the thighs by not straightening/tightening your legs during plies or while doing SATI? I can understand not LOSING inches if not doing proper form, but I don't understand how you would GAIN the inches:confused:

Hang in there shamita! The fact that T-Tapp has helped you with your health issues is a big plus:clappinghands:

Susie, I believe it is because you are not lengthening/stretching the muscle entirely, but more like pumping it,

building the belly of the muscle like a weight lifter...

OK, I never thought of that, makes sense. In other words we have to try and keep the muscles elongated. Now I get it:) I couldn't for the life of me figure out why you would gain inches, and because I didn't know, I was concerned doing my workouts.

Thank you Lori for explaining it. This is why I love this forum!:balloon:

Susie, who will REALLY make sure that form is right:D

Thanks ladies. I will use the form tips and work on my diet too. This month I am going to do tempo arms and HTF/Tempo lower body. On off days I will either rest completely or do SATI. I will report on my progress.

This encourages me! I can't believe how lacking in shape my body has gotten after suddenly losing 65 lbs in less than a year. Reading about people having their butt rearranged (:D) has me itching to get started!
