Hello everyone,
I've practiced TTAPP on and off for awhile now. By on and off, I would practice a few days and then put it down for several months and repeat (for the last year...or two). I'm starting again with full intentions, no excuses it is time to be me again! But I'm confused. I have the Basic Workout Plus, Total Body Workout, Lower Body Workout and Tempo. I have some others too but I think these are the main ones. Which one do I do? Is the Tempo the new version of the Total Body Workout?
Also, I had the SATI but it is scratched and won't play. I practice tai chi, qi gong and walk a lot and in particular a mountain by my house regularly (1.25 miles on serious incline). I love walking the mountain but will it hurt my weight loss?
Last but not least, is anyone interested in a workout buddy for checking in and support. I will NOT quit again and my friends are not really supportive with this.
Thanks so much in advance for your time in answering my questions.
Have a great day,
Trina

They are all wonderful workouts. But if you had commitment problems, I would start with a short one, because it is easier to do short one than commit to long one. And then after you are steady with that one for a while, you can move on to longer ones. I am not a trainer though, just my opinion.

thank you that's a good idea. I'm thinking it will be good for the days that I don't feel like it to use that one as a fall back. It will help me to stay on track that way.
Thanks again for your time in answering.

Trina,
I would like to extend an invitation to come over to the "6 weeks to a new you thread". You will find a great support team there, and know that you are not alone in this!
All that we ask is that you check in to let us know that you are doing your workouts. That is the most important thing. The other things that are listed are add ons that some choose to do.
Here is the link. http://forum.t-tapp.com/showthread.php?t=65742
If you have any questions about it, feel free to email me at dms67@msn.com .
We would love to have to come join us!

I think BWO+ is the one to start with either the instructional part of TWO or BWO+. It is hard, I suffer from lack of consistency but this is a new year and a good time to make exercise part of our schedule like a shower or food is. Right we are here to be supportive of each other.
Glad you are back and here.

Good Morning Trina
I also am seeking a like-minded t-tapper to banter with. YOu and I have a couple of things in common, well maybe even more than a couple. We both know that t-tapp is the best method to use, I (and perhaps we) procastinate and let this aspect of our lives slide, and I am starting over again as well. I am on day 6 of my first ever t-tapp challenge. I had joined two other competitions over the years but not once did I turn on the DVD.
Everyone have a great morning...

Hi Gwen D.
It's nice to meet you. It would be great to banter. It's wonderful that you are on Day 6!
I ended up starting to feel sick this week but I did stick with the 15 minute Basic and walking through the day when I could get to it. I'm starting to get to more though and work my way to the TWO. I noticed that I slouch a great deal today but I noticed because I was constantly correcting it and that's exciting to me.
Are you still meeting your goals? How's it going?

Good morning Trina
Its going darn well...All my days are not perfect. But what ever does occur during that day I either congratuate myself for meeting my goals for the day or forgive myself for the mistakes made..I have this alter ego that works hard to misalign my plan. (its like the child inside that needs healing). Take yesterday for example, I completed Basic + immediately upon rising, followed thru with preparing and consuming an awesome breakfast at home before rushing off to clinical day 2. But when I got home from full day ( I was upset with some minor occurance) and although I thought I had dealth with the minor conflict, I found myself eating food that is not in my clean eating plan. Its like I just forge ahead with this negative behaviour without really sitting down and thinking about. But rather then letting it derail me...I consider the behaviour..and try not to replicate it, or let it totally put me off track (as it once did).
I really like the t-tapp system....but like so many others, find it a real effort...but its a work in progress....i work hard at developing a positive attitude about exercising daily....a couple of days ago i started notiicing small signs that my body and mind are changing...could fit into a pair of pants that were out of the question a month ago...
Correcting your posture is powerful stuff eh....its like having an edge over everyone else...tapp makes ya egotistic..ha ah..its like having a hidden secret...how about we make a plan to see how many times each day we can slip in extra moves during our day...like bend it, tuck it, lift while we walk, sit, or do daily routinue stuff.
i think i hate that move at end of basic plus...right..they're called hoe downs....i must need them bad...this weekend my goal is to complete SATI for the first time...saturday and sunday...I find that after i do even a few moves from a more advanced tape that my endurance and conditoning improves notiicably the next time I tapp....
would like to hear more about your experiences..sorry to hear about your getting sick...was it a cold or something more?
have a great weekend..

Hi Gwen
I understand completely about the alter ego. I found myself eating without realizing that I'm even doing it. Being conscious and aware of everything is important and I like the idea of considering it as another person and just saying no to her. After all, it's someone I don't want to be anymore. I haven't completely gone on a clean eating plan yet but I'm shopping today for it. I'm going to have 3 main meals a day that follow the 5 element balancing principals with some healthy snacks thrown in. I'm finding that my body does well with them and I think the meals taste good too.
I took my measurements this morning so I am ready to go full blast. How did my abs get bigger than my chest? That is enough to get me moving all day!
I like your goals to incorporate throughout the day too. Let's do it!
We are soooo going to do this and become healthier. I notice a difference in my posture etc after ONE workout. I can only imagine how great it will feel after many!
Good luck this weekend!
Cheers,
Trina

hi Trina
lost my momentum...ugh...problem is ...i get waylayed (weird term eh ha) if there are any unresolved challenges in my life...not so good eh...cuz life is full of them....things need to be resolved in order for me to t-tapp...and thats not effective...have you any constructive ideas to assist? Here's an idea....when something comes up and I would rather stew about it than tapp..i make this vow to myself...focus on tapping for now...and then if you dont feel better afterwards then go ahead and stew...
focusing on something as theurapectic as t-tapp has many instant benefits..it helps one to realign focus, instant mood elevation and theurapeutic emotional and health benefits..
gosh..can you make sense of any of this Trina...its too funny....but its nice to have you to listen ...
so, I am off to do basic +....thanks for listening...

Gwen, sometimes I tell myself, "I only have to do PBS" and lace up my shoes. Well, I'll go ahead and do plies. Then might as well do reach scoops...and usually, I get the whole thing done and feel so much better!
But giving yourself permission to just do one move is okay. And some days, that might be all you do. It's okay!
HTH!

Morning Trisch
Good advice..and thank you
My mojo is back...and once it returns I am like a little tapping trojan...I soar inside when I incorporate some tapp everyday...
I am a novice Trisch. Which is a great place to start (smile), I embrace all the nuiances and techniques of this system. Its not the pain or the effort that makes me falter, but my inability to balance my emotional state consistently.
In your opinion, does tapping assist with the balancing act.?
Have an excellent Sunday.

{{{Gwen}}} Yes, I most certainly do! I have 9 children 3 to 23, and I homeschool. I also teach piano every other week. There are some days I have to just think "do the next thing"! Now, my dds help me a LOT around here! So don't get the idea I'm supermom with a cape!
I truly feel T-Tapp has helped balance me emotionally. I also have had some hormonal issues that I'm working on, but the T-tapp has certainly helped me keep my sanity through some tough times the past three years. Exercise releases endorphins (the feel good hormones), so sometimes when I feel yuck or blue or like biting my own head off, just getting the shoes laced up and telling myself "you need this" and taking the time no matter what does the trick!
You need to see this as more than "just an exercise program". I was working out 45 minutes to an hour a day, 4 days a week before I found T-Tapp. And I lost nothing. Nor did I feel this good. Oh, I'd feel good for an hour and half.....then need a nap! :sleeppillow:
But with T-Tapp, I would be tired, but a body tired. My mind would be clearer.
I still have some inches to lose, but to be honest, if for some reason my body wouldn't lose another inch, I'd still keep tapping for the health, energy, stamina and emotional benefits I feel.
You know, as you do T-Tapp, you feel a sense of accomplishment that carries over into other areas of your life. I have a hard time with consistency, yet I've been overall very consistent with T-Tapp (mind you, I've had my moments here and there, but over the long haul, yes, I've been consistent). And now I can see how it has slowly carried over into other areas of my life. Of course, there are still more areas of my life I'd like to see it carry into! ;) LOL!
You can do this! Have you checked out some of the accountability threads on the general forum? I've been on Six Weeks to a New You almost from the start. You don't have to do a certain workout--you just state your goals and let us know how you're doing. If you don't post for awhile, Donna (the one who moderates that thread) will e-mail you to see how you're doing! NO ONE will beat you up (and we won't let you beat yourself up, either!), just ask how you're doing, maybe help you be accountable, encourage you, answer questions--well, that describes the whole forums here!!!!!
I think one of the most awesome aspects of T-Tapp is the incredible SUPPORT you get here on the forums!
HUGS to you!

Good morning Gwen and Hello Blessed Mama,
Gwen, good for you, for getting past the NO and doing it! That is wonderful and you should be really proud of yourself!!
I understand the emotional thing completely! For me, the weight is there intentionally for emotional reasons and to undo that is to unwrap those things that are hidden under there and safely protected. Even if the weight doesn't come off, the internal workings is what is undoing the emotional layers I've placed.
I take a few gentle slow deep breaths. I was going to tell you about one exercise that I was given by my Daoist Master to help with emotional things that will arise in life. It is simple and unbelievably effective I've found. It is simply 'to give yourself 3 minutes to feel whatever it is that is there and that you need too'. If you get sad,set a timer for 3 minutes and for those 3 minutes feel that sadness fully - cry, throw pillows, scream, jump up and down, whatever you need to do to fully feel that sadness.
I thought it was silly at first but I was shocked to find how effective it was and after awhile I realized that when I would get upset, it would last about 3 minutes naturally. lol It was liberating because I could handle 3 minutes and it 'gave me permission to feel the emotion'. I didn't realize how much I didn't feel of an emotion.
I was thinking this exercise may help but I was also thinking in terms of what Blessed Mama was saying. We could also do it as a 'ttapp' for this exercise. For 3 minutes, we will fully throw ourselves into TTAPP? I think it would be great.
I've had trouble too. I don't know what is going on my TTAPP tapes are dying on me. My Step to the Max quit working and yesterday my 15 minute Basic Plus quit working. I ordered the SATI on clearance because money is short right now. I hope that no more go bad. When the tape stopped working, so did I. I'm disappointed but I did keep thinking all day about our goal to utilize it in everything we do. Even as we speak, I am at the computer in much better posture than my normal! I have a class today but my goal is to do at least half of the exercises on the Total Workout or TappCore (not sure what that one is but hopefully it will work and I can do it).
Good luck today!

Big Bloody Hugs to you both...
Ok not exactly Bloody...but very very enthusiastic Hugs..lol
Maybe I can help with the tape thing...email me privately Trina
Ok...so I like your Daoist Masters idea...when should the 3 minutes be incorporated? At any time ? I love learning...so bring it on...
Alright Trina girl..so now we are incorporating bend it, tuck it, lift it, throught out our day...This am after breakfast (went into town for it don'tyaknow) and did 8 hoe downs on either side immediately afterwards. And then again after lunch and snackeepoo. This is now my strong intention after eat meals....Wanna join me?
"I have a class today" are you also a student?
Bye for now

Hi Gwen.
I like your idea about Hoe downs. You got it, it sounds like another good goal, I will start incorporating it now. I did not exercise today. Class was longer than I thought so I will practice qi gong and that's all tonight. The class I was in was an acupuncture class specifically for the 8 extraordinary channels. I'm in the midst of learning external qi healing which incorporates much of Chinese medicine and acupuncture. One day, I may go back to school for it and the class today has me excited and ready to study and practice more. What are you studying?
Yes, the 3 minute exercise can be incorporated for anything - exercise or any emotion that you come across in the day. I love it, a simple exercise with big impact -like TTAPP.
Goal: Tomorrow morning first thing - Total Workout. Meals: All 5 element balanced
Have a great night,
Trina

How are you doing with your T-Tapping. Use this thread to keep yourself accountable. You are doing great just making a committment to be more consistent.

Hi Rhonda,
I'm doing good. I'm on my 4th day of bootcamp. Each day I have done the Total Workout in the morning and walked on treadmill for 30 minutes each evening. This morning, I ran out of time on the Total Workout (work started calling) and so I was only able to make it up to the arms segment.
I have a question for anyone out there - I have more than 3-4 sizes to lose. Do I keep going on the bootcamp until I reach 14 days or do I take a day break in between? I'm getting ahead of myself but I want to be ready.
Thanks so much everyone!
Trina

Some people find doing a 14 day bootcamp is impossible, mentally and physically. A 4 day bootcamp is really all you need, anything after that is icing on the cake. Most people find greatest inch loss in the EOD phase after a bootcamp.
