Username or Password Problems

Could I use my old username? Thanks. I really don't want to use this username because I don't know where my messages are in which forums. I joined a few years ago and have been inactive for a few months. Sorry!

Click the link they gave you. Follow the instructions from there. Everyone has been given a number as their password on these new boards. You will be emailed that number use it and then change your password in your profile. I've been on the boards since 2001 and did not need to get a new user name.

Yup, I have the same old username I've had since 2002. Just click the option that says you've forgotten your password, and they'll send you an e-mail with a temporary password and instructions on what to do with it! :)

I'm using my old username and password, but I have to log in everytime. Is that going to be permanent? I so hope not!

You need to check the remember me box and that way you won't need to log in every time.

I am still having to log in almost everytime. I have always checked the "remember me" box, but now it doesn't want to remember me!!!! Sometimes I can get on 2 or 3 times before it goes back to asking me to log in again! :-( Not a big deal, though, so if it's a pain to fix, don't worry about it!

My email address has been long dead, so i couldn't get the password reset email, so I had to register again

What was your old user name Mila? I could change the address on the old user name too, to be a functional one.

Sorry your having issues with the forum not remembering your username. I do have something that will hopefully fix it.

I'm going to list the instructions below. First thing you need to find out, is what
browser your using. Microsoft Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari (MAC) or Opera.

Then just follow the steps below on how do clear the cookies in your browser.

Internet Explorer 6.x, 7.x
Firefox 2.x
Safari 3
Opera 9.x

To clear cookies in IE 6.x for Windows:

Click on the Tools menu in the browser.
Select Internet Options from the pull-down menu.
In the middle section, click on the Delete Cookies button. A popup window will appear and press OK in this window to delete the cookies.
Click on the OK button in the Internet Options window.
Quit and restart the browser for the changes to take effect.
To clear cookies in IE 7.x for Windows:

In the Tools menu, select Delete Browsing History... from the pull-down menu.
In the middle section, click on the Delete Cookies button. A popup window will appear and press Yes in this window to delete the cookies.
Click on the Delete Files button. A popup window will appear and press Yes in this window to delete temporary internet files.
Click on the Close button in the Delete Browsing History window.
Quit and restart the browser for the changes to take effect.
To clear cookies in FireFox 2.x for Windows or Mac:

Click the Tools menu.
Select Clear Private Data from the pull-down menu.
In the window that opens, select the items you want to clear -- in this case, Cookies! :o)
Click Clear Private Data Now.
Quit and restart the browser for the changes to take effect.
To clear cookies in Safari 3 for Mac:

Click the Safari menu and select Preferences.
Click the Security tab, and click Show Cookies.
Click Remove all to clear ALL cookies, or click a specific cookie in the list and click Remove.
Click Done. Nice work!
Quit and restart the browser for the changes to take effect.
To clear cookies in Opera 9.x for Windows:

In the Tools menu, click Delete private data.
Click Details.
Check the boxes beside "Delete all cookies" and "Delete entire cache."
Click Delete
Quit and restart the browser for the changes to take effect.

Ok, hopefully this solves the problem.

If it doesn't let me know. I'll also need to know what Internet Browser your using and what operating system. (MS Internet Explorer, WindowsXP)

Is it possible to change my user name from blissfulshelley, to speshe? I'd like to keep my profile exactly as it is, but switch to the user name i use in most other places, without having to start over on the forums. If not, that is ok too!

My user name is so close to Trisch's and since she has been on her a long
time I think it would be polite of me to change my user name, besides
our user names are so close it might be confusing.

Please let me know if I can do this.

Carey, you're not bothering me as far as that goes! But if you want to change it, I'm sure Michelle can do it! She might be busy working this weekend (she's also a RN) but I'm sure she'll be on sometime soon!
