I get SO SICK of this. Two shots a season for 6 mo. old through 8 years?
Hello?
What happened to teaching good, basic manners and hygiene? Not picking the nose, etc., would stop most infections.
I hate this scare campaign. So sick.[}:)]

I haven*t seen the new guidelines but it [u]was</u> only infants under 2 the last few years I know for sure (I worked in a pediatrician office and that is what our MDs recommended per the CDC).
Of course, now that I am an ICU RN it is pretty much required for me to get a FLU vaccine and I got a lot of flak for refusing but I did and I had no problem explaining my reasons for refusing. I had another RN tell me that I was putting my son at risk for getting it because I am at a higher risk for getting it since I work in an busy ICU and that I would then pass it on to my son :(:(:(
Needless to say I very calmly explained that that wasn*t true and I haven*t had the flu since I was in my early 20s and I am now 30++++ ;)
I then explained that I believe in making an INFORMED decision whether for or against vaccinating and that it is an individual choice and walked away.
