Read the hubpages article by Kelley Eidem - he gives the entire prescription for curing chronic yeast problems. His site also has an extensive Q&A that is worth reading: http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Flatten-Your-Tummy-and-End-Food-Cravings-EFFORTLESSLY

If you just want to cut to the chase, here's his prescription of 4 things that need to be taken all as a system:

1. To kill the fungus
Olive leaf extract AND Caprylic acid; 1 each of both 1-2 weeks, then 2 each 1-2 mo.

Or you can use Candistroy or CandidaClear for the above, and follow the directions on the box.

2. To replenish healthy bacteria
Probiotic - he recommends PB-8, twice daily.

3. To heal the intestines
Glutamine powder, 1 tsp (5 gm) twice daily in water OR
Intestinew (faster)

4. To help digestion
Enzymes (I did not see a recommendation).

And BTW, I got this e-mail from iherb:

"Order with us through the end of October, and you'll get flat $1.99 domestic (or $3.99 international) shipping, using Airmail or Priority Mail (USPS) --wherever these services are available in the U.S. or abroad.

It's a great value for anyone using a P.O. Box or APO address-or any international customer who prefers the postal service."

My code is TEX520 to save $5 off your first purchase.

Dr. Eidem's hubpage for the above yeast info also mentioned Vitacost.com being a good source for low-price supplements, and someone gave a coupon code of AETNA608, but I don't know if that code still works, as the person mentioned it's time-sensitive; my iherb code is always good, though.

Helena,
The Vitacost discount code was still valid when I used it two days ago. If it doesn't work, just Google for discount codes. :) That's how I found it.

Thanks for this link & code. I ordered the supplements he recommends from Vitacost.com on Friday & yes that code does work.

I'm sure I have Candida because I took antibiotics for 6 years for acne. It was a great tan enhancer but probably not a good thing to take for so long.

Has anyone had any success in following this program?

I ordered the items from vitacost and should get them today or tomorrow. I am hoping that this may help with my protruding stomach that never seems to change shape (except getting larger) despite what I do!

Has anyone else had any luck with the above mentione formula?

Thanks!

I started this on Oct. 15 lost 6lbs in the first two days and my belly has gone down. I no longer have ravenous food cravings and have to remind myself to eat. My energy level has improved so much that I am not taking naps in my free time and sleeping much better at night. I feel like a new person and will hopefully kill off the yeast beast! By the way, I'm a lurker and have only posted a few times but felt the need to share.

Alisa-
Thanks for putting your post up though! I really appreciate feedback, especially when purchasing something to see if it may be the "miracle help" I needed. I'm always a skeptid when it comes to thing, but when reading the article it seemed like a sound justification! I just started everything last night and so far so good! I'm hoping with my low-fat diet, exercise, and supplements I can knock off some weight, change my body shape, and start to look good! I'm flying home in December for 3 weeks and my family has no clue as it's a huge surprise. I'm hoping to look a bit different when I arrive! I will keep everyone updated with the results.

~Diva

PS- Did you take all the supplements at once? Or space them out through the day? What seemed to work? Thanks for answering, I once was a lurker myself! :D

I take everything together in the morning before I eat anything and again in the afternoon a couple of hours after lunch.

Thanks for the info and code, Helena. I just ordered what I didn't have (Natural Factors olive leaf, Now Foods Candida Clear, and IntestiNew), and am looking forward to seeing if it helps me with often having stomach bloating and discomfort after eating even small amounts, and also help with losing a few pounds wouldn't hurt either.

Thanks for sharing your results, Alisa. Would be great to hear if any of the rest of you have good results as well.

Diva, you'd actually be better off with a lower carb diet to fight the yeasties. Yeast thrives on carbs, even the healthy ones like whole grains and fruit. If you're really trying to cut out the yeast, cut down on the carbs.

I ordered cheapest from Vitamin Shoppe because of a $15.00 off code - 7859.
Candex $44.99
Renew Life IntestiNew $32.99
PB 8 $11.87
Total $89.85 - $15.00 = $77.84

I used the $2.99 shipping. Now I'm wishing I would have just paid the $4.99 to get it sooner - really, what is $2.00 so I can start earlier? Oh well, too late now.

I don't have to take the Olive Leaf extract though if I'm using Candex correct? I'm anxious to try this - after having to be on antibiotics alot this summer (was working in a hospital and kept getting sick) and feeling icky after eating - I think this will be a big help.

Hi Ladies,

Not to discourage anyone, but I've been on this nearly a month and have noticed no changes. A friend of mine did something similar and noticed a change within days. Guess the good news is I don't have candida!

Summertime,

Sometimes it is not yeast or candida causing the problems. I went in and my doc was sure I had both and celicia sprue disease so she tested me for all three. I would have to go on the gluten free diet if the case. All three came back negative. I have collitis and a rare form of it. She thought that all three caused it even though the gastro specialist said no that it was not diet that caused it. I did go on Probiotic to help with another problem but I can't take the recommended amount I have to take half of it but eventually it helped with diarrhea. So sometimes even though bloating etc are there the causes are harding to find.

I did have adrenal fatigue and thyroid issues. Now was the causing I am not sure. But since treatment for both I am feeling better. I have improved my diet too.

Thanks for your comments Rhonda. I have had IBS for most of my life, which in recent years has been under control. But I'll ask my MD to check for celiac & gluten at my check up.

Glad you're feeling better!

OMG - I received the Candex and IntestiNew last night so took them before bed. By 11:30, my stomach was in so much pain with cramping, I was burping so bad I would have won a contest, finally threw up at around 1:30 - it was AWFUL. I have had ZERO sleep and since I am still having stomach pains, I didn't take anything this morning. I was going to take just one Candex to see if that made a difference.

I don't know if this is telling me I have it so bad that it is going to take some work or if it is telling me that this isn't the right thing for my body.

Since my stomach is so darn bloated that I was asked last week if I was pregnant, I really thought this would help. But I can't do another night like last night again.

Summertime,

All my life they told me that I had IBS until a medication I was put on caused severe diarreha that they did a colonscopy of my colon and a biopsy along with an ultrasound in which they found the collitis. Again it is rare and not due to diet. Only a biopsy will find this particular type. I wonder if many of those that have IBS that doesn't respond to treatment might have these two types of collitis that the gastro docs say is rare but only can be found with a biopsy because in the normal situations they just don't do biopsies.
I have treated mine with supplements, like Theresa's alfalfa, which I am glad to find a pill form versus a power, yuk mixing this in water and drinking is not so tasty, and probiotics.

My doc says once the good bacteria is out of whack it can take a great deal of probiotics to replenish and reestablish your body's levels. I only just now have gotten mine so that I feel more normal and my collitis has settled now. Now it only reacts if I get really upset.

I must say I like the holistic approach much better than those gastro specialists. I have not really ever found one that I really like their approach (mainly medications which I prefer not to do if I can help it.) So far I have been able to control my collitis with probiotics and supplements.

Take care, and good luck

I would think that Kefir would be a wonderful help for this problem. I've been making my own (THANK YOU MOYNE!!) and have come to really like it. I've found I'm not straining to use the bathroom so much, either! Finally!

Rachelle my dh couldn't do it either. He felt sick to his tummy and gave it up and felt great! It didn't bother me at all. I wouldn't take it. When your body speaks that loudly it is worth listening!;)

I ordered the supplements listed. If anyone is doing this, please share your results. I have stomache issues and my abdomen protrudes so I'm hoping this will help. I also have symptoms of candida.

Thanks,

Cindy
