I was just going thru the newsletter archives and found this written by Teresa:

Nutrition Tip: If trying to lose weight, you might want to add the supplement "Kelp" to your program. it stimulates and feeds the thyroid to function at its best. One capsule in the morning is all you need. It take mine with my alfalfa and fibertox on an empty stomach with 12 oz of water at room temperature. Once in menopause or over age 50, you might want to take Kelp two times a day. Don't take two now --- save it for when you need it! The main nutrient that feeds the thyroid is Iodine and Kelp is very high in Iodine. The brand I use is "Solgar" - but most brands on the market are of same quality (not like the wide range of quality in alfalfa!)

Has anyone tried it? Just wondering.

I have been taking kelp granules for about 3 months as a supplement for a low thryoid. I hope it has been working. I need to get rechecked. I would not mind the weight loss benefit either. I have lost some weight but also have been eathing better so am not sure maybe it is from the combination! I am anxious to read the article. Thanks

I like cod and haddock so will eat more as the article reorted they are high in iodine.

I take kelp. I read about it somewhere, but couldn't find a supplement with the same daily recommended dosage, so I got one with more and just take it every other day. I'm not sure if it is helping or not. I did it because while I would like to have my thyroid levels checked, it seems to be an ordeal to get it done. (at least that's how the doctor's make it seem) I suspect that if I don't have hypothyroidism, that my thyroid is sluggish anyway. I think that it has helped to boost my metabolism.
