Gmail attaches all photos horizontally for me. So since I took my photos vertically, it's attaching them horizontally.

Any other Gmail users having this problem, or is there some setting I can adjust?

Hmmm. I just used Gmail to send mine, and had no problems.

At least one of the programs I use for my camera "recognizes" when photos should be vertical, and shows them that way -- but unless I actually change them in Windows Explorer, they aren't permanently that way, if that makes sense. From the Start Menu, right-click on Pictures, then click Explore. If you shift/select all of the photos at once, you can right-click and tell the system to Rotate Clockwise (or Counterclockwise) and it will change them all at once.

Of course, that assumes you're on a PC; you're hip enough, you could be a Mac girl!

Aha. Thanks, Allison.

I downloaded my photos using Picasa, which shows all photos the way they're supposed to be oriented. So when I flipped them in Picasa they weren't flipped on my computer, but I thought they were.

Man, what a pain in the butt! Next year we should all just upload our photos to a Flickr site or something so no one has to deal with attachments or cutting and pasting. Seriously, a computer programmer could spend about an hour writing a script to just have everything submitted to a website in forms so this could all be automated.

I don't use G mail but I already got an e-mail telling me to resubmit my photos because they were "tiny." The originals weren't so I don't know what happened. I resubmitted them but I'm afraid those will come through "tiny" as well although they were sent as attachments this time. For some reason it was struggle to get them sent at all, why do computers have to be so hard to understand sometimes?

Yeah, my "Adobe Album Starter" automatically shows the pictures correctly oriented, but they aren't saved that way on the computer. I went to attach them and Gmail showed them as they actually were. I had to go through the photo software and "edit" them... I flipped them all wrong way and back to right way again and saved them by a different name - in my case "Right 41108" instead of img0930439802734gobbledygook.

It is a pain, but I just imagine this times 200 being what Kiona has to go through and I take a deep breath.

Which is exactly why we need to figure out an easier way for everyone, Kitty included, for next year!

Moxie,

Unfortunately this IS the easy way for Kitty. This is like the 6th one of these that I've done and I actually have it down to a science on my end as long as everything is submitted properly.

SORRY!
