Just looking to vent a couple of opinions if I can find someone to chat with about it. Dh isn't home, so I don't get to babble on about it to him until he watches it, and that won't be before Tuesday.

I've been watching... Can't decide between Rory and Amy, though I think I would be more apt to cooking Rory's dishes.

I was soooo glad when JAG was found out. Bobby Flay had him pegged from the beginning!!! What an act he tried to pull off. And the lie about being deployed to Afghanistan was unforgiveable and disrespectful to our brave soldiers:(:( Jeeze, I guess I needed to vent too[:I]
I'm so glad Amy's back. However, I too, can't decide between her and Rory.

I love this show but I do have to say I cannot believe that they were the best contestants they could find. I was not that impressed with them this season. Out of them though, Amy has been my favorite from the start and could not believe they sent her home over Jag! I was very happy when I found out Jag had lied and was withdrawing. Also remember when Jag said Latin food is not represented? OMG, open mouth insert foot. But he did have a point, it really is not. Though, I think the new show Simply Deliscioso is Food Network's response to that!

Well, I too was floored when they sent Amy home to begin with. They said that they had to consider how they had done on everything, and she had won or been in the top 3 of every single blasted challenge, and they said good-bye??? I do think Rory and Jag did better at Rachael Ray than Amy, but if they are honestly going to be considering the WHOLE picture, there's no way Amy goes and Jag stays.
Jag was actually my early-on favorite, just because I thought that indeed the cultural cuisine he was targeting was something that they just hadn't really focused on. They had that one lady last year that was Latina cooking, but her food just wasn't good enough. So I thought maybe they were still hunting for a good representative to do a latin-focused show. And then they started running the Simply Delicioso promos, so obviously they had that in production by the time they were filming Next Star.
I think Rory has probably shown better camera presence. I have to say that deep down I think she might be a better TV personality, but I believe I will vote for Amy. I was a tad bit surprised that they sent Paul and let Jag stay, but I knew that Jag clearly knew more about food than Paul, so I could live with it. But there is no way you could say Jag has outperformed Amy. If they wanted to pick him for TV reasons of their own, fine and dandy. They are the TV people, and it's their network. But if they though at the time that Jag was a better TV candidate, then say that and don't suggest it's because he performed better overall, because he clearly didn't.

I couldn't believe when they sent Amy home at first. I'm glad it turned out the way it did though, because I like her. I don't mind Rory, but I can just identify more with Amy and she seems a little more accessible, overall, to me. Just like her more for some reason.
