I have problems with dairy and so I eat very little of it. However I can tolerate goat yogurt well. Only problem it tastes kinda YUCKY ---- to use a word my grand daughters use. I am finding ways to eat it adding fruit and coconut oil plus mayple syrup, But it is still not my favorite flavor. Anybody have experience with this ? Would appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks
Kathleen

I too find goat milk/yogurt very "goaty" - I did find though that when I ate it consistently it somewhat lessened as I became used to it.
Maybe try making kefir with goat milk and see if you like that better?
I used to use goat milk in protein shakes and the flavor was fairly strong no matter what ..

I culture raw goat milk into kefir and can't detect ANY taste, goaty or otherwise, in my smoothies I use it in. I'm not a milk drinker, but I've tasted the raw milk and it tastes no different than I remember cow milk tasting. Again, I buy it raw from a friend who LOVES her goats, and I imagine it tastes different than commercial, pasteurized stuff. (Lasts an awful long time in the fridge, too.)
I mix it with carrot juice, avocado, cucumber, lime, frozen berries, and protein powder and other nutritional supplements. YUM!

I believe Greek style yogurt is goat milk based. It's deeeelish when you eat it along with dipping your spoon into honey. There is even a brand of yogurt that comes with a little side of honey (sold at Trader Joe's of course *rolling eyes*). But, Whole Foods and some health-food oriented other stores carry it too.

FAGE (PRONOUNCED Fa'-yeh!) is the Greek yogurt that we get in our grocery store with a side of honey, no TJ's here:(. Not goat yogurt, but yummy and no problems with it, when we have problems with all other dairy products. I don't care for yogurt but this stuff tastes like sour cream and is good for me????[:p];)

Thanks Kate. I'll see if I can find some. My DD mimi on these forums lives in Arizona and often talks about Trader Joes. She loves that place. Maybe I can find some close even if we don't have a Trader Joes.
I don't think I shall roll my eyes about Wild Oats, but surely there is some place to buy such a thing around here.

I eat a little goat milk yougurt. Yes mine tastes goaty too. I usually add some frozen bluberries with some agave. I am sure honey is just a s delic. I do tend to squirt a little more than I usually would. HOpe you find the right taste.[:p]

Good Arternoon Nikki,
Thanks for the empathy and the ideas. Last night I discovered that mandarin oranges and coconut make a pretty good combo in the yogurt ---- also threw in a teaspoon of real mayple syrup plus 1/8 cup of grape nuts. Not to bad. I will just kep trying to improve the stuff.

They also at Whole Foods of course sell a buffalo yogurt that isn't bad and they have flavors to. That is supposed to be easier on the belly for those with problems. I used to add some to my kefir.

Buffalo yogurt ? Maybe I'll have to try that. Wild Oats will soon become Whole Foods around here --- so it might be available to me.
Thanks for the info.

Just bought some new goat yogurt. REDWOOD HILL FARM vanilla. HEY ! This stuff is quite good. I can eat and enjoy this just as it is.
Thanks for all the good ideas. I still have plenty of the plain yogurt left. You guys have given me lots of ways to make it more enjoyable.
Here's to having good T-TAPP FRIENDS.
