Somewhere on the forum I read about a challenge that Lani started to add more vegetables to the diet. Since it is summer and fresh veggies are in good supply I would like to do something like that. I have done a few searches but haven't been able to find what this originally involved. Does anyone have some kind of guideline or something similar that has been done in the past?

Thanks in advance for any input you may have.

my friend lisa called me from FL this morning... her family is on holiday... wanted to know if i'd pray about doing a 'Daniel fast' for 21 days, just fruits & vegies... funny she should ask that as i've been contemplating that for a while, & more so since reading through The China Study the past week. .... hmmmm..... i'm thinking this is the best time of year to do such a challenge... thanks for bringing it up... funny how confirmation comes...

Thanks for the link Asha.

I will stop by the grocery tonight and start this tomorrow. Just what I need for some warm weather eating.

Thanks again

Ok guys - I'm up for this! How many servings and for how long? Tappy Holidays did 6 - 1/2 cup servings per day. Total 3 cups for the day.

Lets go! I need some motivation. :D

asha... apparently this juice isn't mass marketed, though i've seen some at my hfs... something about the way this company has/is going about it (since 2002) struck me as legit. the website is user friendly & i found out about it as i've been looking for a home-based business for about 3 years.

xango came in yesterday afternoon... tastes sweet-tart, crisp, lovely color & very nice bottle. i'd wondered if it would be noticeable right away or take awhile.... well... 2 oz & 20 minutes later...my brain felt someone had flipped the on-switch... not like the iced coffee i'd had an hour earlier, but ON, like no brain fog... & it lasted through a 20 minute dvd (which i watched doing SATI in metatreks) & a 3-mile walk w/poles outside after that, & then chores, study... & up this morning at 5:30 ready to go. i'm not sure if that's the usual... but it hasn't been mine... we'll see. from what i read last night, 1 oz has 4-8 hours cellular activity, that is, actual energy value, so the suggestion for adults w/no health issues is 1-2oz/day for healthy maintenance. there's a lot to learn. why not? we're all learning cool stuff here daily.

as for the vegies, i got this in an unexpected email yesterday too: http://chetday.com/21days.pdf

i'm thinking...we really do get what we ask for so be ready to receive what you really want...

hugs.

Daniel fast? This is why I posted about vegetarian diet. My DD had this lesson, which I must have missed or ignored all these years. It was so simple, right there in black and white. I have greatly increase my veggies and have lost doing it. I need to find the right balance to keep my sugar/energy/mood level stable.
