I check out several blogs everyday - I'm sure I'm not the only one. :) One of the blogs I love to go to is a gal in Utah who makes beautiful jewelry and sells it. Almost everyday she has new jewelry up for purchase - first come, first serve. I've purchased earrings and two bracelets from her. The quality is amazing and the photos of the things I bought don't even do them justice.
Anyway, I just noticed on her blog today that she is offering 25% to new visitors on any of her pieces. WOW! This is an amazing deal. Since I'm not a new visitor I can't participate, but I knew that some of you would probably like to check her out!
Let me know what you think and if you buy something let her know who sent you!:)

I know. I had a hard time not getting too much...lol.
I bought one set today and put an order in for 2 others. She needs to see if she can get the supplies.
I told her that I got her name from you.[^]

Ok, not knocking this lady or anything cause she does have a great eye for putting the jewelry together; right colors, textures, ect. However, i think her pieces are WAY overpriced. I do a little beading myself for fun, and i KNOW i have seen some of the same beads in her jewelry at WalMart. Some of the fancier beads are a bit spendier, but certainly not $68 worth! You can make your own for SO much cheaper.
Just my 2 cents.:)

I know what you mean Tricia. I do some beading myself. I would like to know where she gets the clasps though. I haven't seen those anywhere.

I thought the prices were ok. Even if it is a little more than a department store I don't mind. I like to try to support small businesses if I can. She seemed very nice through the e-mails we exchanged yesterday.

I know her and know that she charges a flat fee on top of each piece of jewelry. So, if a bracelet or necklace is that expensive, then it's because the beads were that expensive. When she uses cheaper stuff, it's cheaper.
She is also willing to do custom work with colors, lengths, beads you find on your own etc. She is very talented and like sugar pie mentioned, a small business. So, the discount you may see in larger stores due to volume, mass production etc, isn't there. Every piece is hand made, with original thought and handpicked pieces.
She made a custom necklace for my son's teacher when she had a heart-attack this year. I told her, basically, I wanted a classy necklace for a woman in her sixties that loves jewelry. She found an amazing glass, lampwork hollow heart that had every possible color infused into it, paired it with a beautiful chain and made some coordinating earrings. Then she sent it to me in the cutest box wrapped with ribbon that I could give to this wonderful teacher with pride. I mean, way more than just going to Macy's or Walmart. Know what I mean?
Just my two cents.:)

I totally agree Lucy. I bought an earring and necklace set and I inquired about a bracelet to go with it. She took my wrist measurement and made it last night and shipped it today.
She also gave me the US rate for shipping. I live in Canada. That never happens. I usually get hosed on shipping...lol.

Oh, i wasn't talking about Walmart "jewelry", i was talking about the beads. I have seen some of those SAME beads at Walmart. and yes, sometimes they can be expensive. The bigger, fancier ones can be $4 or $5 for a pack of 5. But usually the small silver ones (the bead "separators"), and the small clear beads come in large packages for about $2 or $3 dollars. Some of her beads may be the more expensive glass beads, sometimes ordered from beading catalogs.
Not knocking her biz, i'm just saying if you know how to bead, doing it yourself is cheaper. Personally, i can't see myself paying $60 or more for a beaded bracelet, but that's just me. :)

For me the off topic board is a place where we can share information. That's all I was trying to do.
I personally love Dana's jewelry and since I don't have the time to learn to bead and travel from store to store to acquire supplies, I am happy to pay for her beautiful, handmade jewelry.
Thank you everyone for checking out her site.
