My parent looked this up. You have to pay to access the exact information on anyone you want to know about. When you search this you only get the town. If you want to maintain your privacy, you have to pay these people a one-time charge of $4.95, but frankly, I am afraid to give them a credit-card number. If they are vile enough to divulge your location, what will they do when they access your credit card?
"Google has implemented a new feature which enables you to type a telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and you will be given the person's name and address (I checked this out & it came up with my name & address AND a map showing where my house was). If you then hit MapQuest, you will get a map to the person's house. Everyone should be aware of this!
It's a nationwide reverse telephone book.
If a child gives out his/her phone number, or if you give out your number, someone can now look it up to find out where he/she lives/you live. The safety issues are obvious, and alarming.
Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked. As I said, I typed in my number and it came up along with the map and directions straight to my house. It is quite scary."

When at our public library one of their workers at the computer asked a young girl standing at the counter (with a line of MEN behind her) to verify her phone number and address!
Pamela being Pamela I immediately spoke up and told him this was not appropriate and to look behind her.
Some of the men there are fathers and they were angry too, but this guy is not the sharpest tool in the shed and looked totally baffled and the little girl out of 'good manners' had already giver her phone number out before I could stop her.
I spoke to the head librarian about it and emailed the board later on and they have since stopped doing this.
Now, knowing this google access, it really is very sobering.
