recently i've been aware of all my dog/cat friends in a different light. as i walk 4 blocks each way from car to work & back, i'm greeted by my no-longer-an-ankle-biter weinerdog, a huge young rottweiler named smokey, two now-tied in the yard mixed breeds & various felines, mostly feral.

one of my faculty has rescued a mistreated lab along w/2 of her own weinerdogs & told me of a sadly abandoned lab a couple of blocks from her...who's thinner, has no one to feed, play with or take of him/her. she has already called animal control & humane society, as there are now laws that protect these animals & fine the owners for neglect/abuses. if you see any animal in such a state, please contact your local humane society.

2 friends of mine feed something in the area of 30-50 cats a day, not only their own, but the neighborhoods... natalie is 88 years old & knows all the vets in town; her niece drives her & they literally open cans in back alleys, off main drags, in parking lots... & they cover some of the homeless people along the way (w/mickey dees). i was wondering if i wrote to the petfood brands manufacturers, if they'd subsidize these two ladies in some way as they're paying out of their own pocket for all these animals... any suggestions?

keep movin'..the path shows up behind you...
