Do you think I could do these exercises successfully as a overweight, pregnant mama trying to prevent the onset of full blown diabetes?

I'm encouraged by the posts I've read on diabetes. My main problem is with the dawn phenomenon and just can't seem to lick it naturally and I really don't want to take any insulin. Maybe if I can somehow get it under control with exercise the obgyn won't make me take any drugs and my baby won't be as large as my others were.

Ask your question on the Mommy fitness board. You'll get a much fast reply on that board. The Health Improvement boards is not as busy.

I had GD with my last babe, but was unable to really Tapp much, due to other pregnancy concerns.

While I didn't take insulin (I did take an oral med though), I did the diet as well.

My babe was 7# 1oz. :)

Just push PLAY. I mean, really, the tapes/DVDs won't work unless you actually *do* them. Just start.

Congratulations on your little one, gingerb!

I hope that I am able to do some exercises. My first child was 10.5, my second was 11, and my third was 14lb 3oz...unfortunately he didn't make it :(. That was just in November. We had planned on waiting a while so I could get healthy before trying again, but within two months we were very surprised to find that I was pregnant again, and expecting in October!

I want this baby so badly, and I need to be healthy. I sure hope that I can do at least a few exercises daily to improve my health so I can give birth to a healthy child.

Thanks April, I do really need to post. I just feel so busy.

I do have the more workout and do it every other day and walk 2.5 mi every day. My morning sugars are up and down quite a bit, but I find that I feel better and more energetic on the days I do the w/o. My backpain literally disappears when I do the primary back stretch, otherwise I wake up with the pain. I'm tempted to try to do the w/o every day....but I read in the newsletter that daily is not recommended on a long term basis. Maybe I'll just stick to the primary back stretch and hoe downs on off days.

I appreciate your asking. If you think of me on Tuesday, please pray for me. I have a Glucose Tolerance Test which will determine whether or not I can give birth with my midwife or will need to go to the hospital, I'd really rather do the midwife, Lord willing.

Thanks so much!
Kerry

P.S. I'll send this to the forum too.
