I realize I can't get a "diagnosis" here, but I know you Tappers are well-informed enough to point me in the right direction.

I have been an allergy person since very early in life. I was ALWAYS sick with respiratory infections which lasted longer and were more severe than normal people. I've had about five different allergists and about five rounds of shots. Twelve years ago, I developed CTS with pregnancy, and was supposed to have the surgery, but chickened out. The last few years, I have been having alot of pain all over, in addition to worsening allergies and CTS (from inflammation, IMO.) All joints hurt much of the time, but I do push myself doing yard work, house work, and keeping up exercise, which includes jogging and aerobics in addition to T-Tapp. About a decade ago, I started having neck pain, and for a while, was seeing a massage therapist and different chiros for the pain. Two of the chiros and the MT mentioned fibromyalgia, but I've never had a "real" diagnosis for that.

I do not have good insurance, and I do not have good doctors. I'm not sure what to do to find out what's going on...I just know I can't afford to go from doctor to doctor.

Dh thinks it's all about the allergies.

kind of depends on what type of allergies you're talking about...food, pollen, grain, chemical....etc.

so... you haven't gone to a nutritionist or an allergist. How about a chiropractor? Many of them know a lot about supplements, allergies & nutrition, stress management, hormonal challenges & how one incident way back when can cause a spinal misalignment that sends all the neurological signals awry & the domino effect kicks in looking like a bunch of other stuff (which then is a misdiagnosis bec. the underlying cause wasn't addressed).

Actually, yes...I've been to about eight of them. I don't know if it's where I live, but I have the worst "luck" with practitioners of any kind. They just don't seem to have a clue, and I have to pull teeth to get any information from them. I did have an endo who Dx'd me PCOS, but I don't think that has anything to do with all this joint pain and CTS. I am at a loss! Like I said, insurance is lousy, so I always have to pay MONEY, in addition to the $830 per month we pay for the policy! It's not a good situation.

So sorry you're not feeling well. [V] DH may be onto something with the allergies. Have you ever looked into NAET (http://naet.com/)? There are a few here who have had great success with it.

As for "all joints hurt much of the time", besides it possibly being fibromyalgia, I remember this from The Healing Power of Sunlight & Vitamin D (http://downloads.truthpublishing.com/Sunlight.pdf) that you may also want to consider. Let me know if you can't open the document and I'll e-mail you a Word version:

quote:We also know that if you’re vitamin D de#64257;cient, not only does it precipitate and exacerbate osteoporosis in older men and women, but it causes a very subtle and quite devastating bone disease known as osteomalatia. Long story short, osteomalatia is like adult rickets. And what it does is it causes severe bone discomfort, achiness in the bones and also in the muscles. And these patients are often misdiagnosed as having #64257;bromyalgia.
I'm not sure what the test is for fibromyalgia but if you want to test independently of a doctor for Vitamin D deficiency, here's a place (http://directlabs.com/) you may want to consider. You'd want the Calcidiol test, not the Calcitriol and sufficient levels are 32 ng/mL (nanograms/milliliter), ideal levels are 40-50 ng/mL (depending on the season of course). Here's an earlier post (http://forum.t-tapp.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=51057#490034) of mine about Vitamin D.

I also hope you will be able to find a 'good' doctor soon. I know how you feel, I'm still searching for one myself, though it's been more of a lackadaisical search lately. [:I]

derya has some awesome info...

just a thought... don't know where you live... but there seems to be an increase in flu things, at least here in tx... been wondering if... there's been a change in the air, water, via chemicals... that's sabotaging the body... nothing to go on here but an instinctive sense of the oil/gas/chemical industries reaching some sort of critical mass... perhaps due to concerns about global warming, all the energy needs overseas, etc.

so... has your local water company changed anything? do you have old or fairly new plumbing? do you know what your land was before the house was built? i know out here there are major housing projects going up...that used to be oil fields...

just a thought...

And interesting thoughts they are...I know nothing about this land's history. I have well water, which perhaps should be tested?

Re Vit. D, I live in a sunny place, and I will NOT stay indoors except June thru mid September (in spite of the pollen, which is bad now and going to get worse). The rest of the time, I am most happy to be outside as close to nature as possible.

I'm researching NAET.

Judy, you are sooo right. We're all being bombarded with toxins from every source imaginable. It seems no matter our best efforts in removing the gunk from our bodies, it will be a never-ending battle. I don't know where you are in Texas but the Gulf of Mexico is a veritable dead zone from all the toxic waste that gets pumped from the Mississippi River. :( I don't know what upsets me more, the willful and transparent poisoning of us all or the lack of mass outrage and activism. Has the fluoride made us complacent? *Whew*, stopping right here before I sound the battle cry and turn this into a political discussion, hehe. Pardon me, Kitty and Teresa. [:I]

In any case, DirectLabs.com does have a toxicity screening test (here (http://directlabs.com/testtypes.php#nut)) if you want check your levels, Luna.

Hi Lunamoth,
I have fibromyalgia and for a long time I thought it was my bones that were aching and then I went to an internal medicine doctor and he did a pressure point test on me and that is the sure sign that it is fibromyalgia. If you have not done a pressure point test they cannot tell with certainty that you have it. But, it is also good to get the pressure point test to rule it out. also you might want to rule out lupus. I think if you can find a good internal medicine doctor then I think they might be able to start ruling things out for you and start narrowing it down to find out your real problem. I truelly hope that you find out and get the help you need I have been in pain for years and know your pain[V] I have managed to help heal myself with glyconutrients and juice +. There is a website you can go and read about glyconutrients at www.glycoscience.com and you can read about juice + at www.juiceplus.com I hope that will help you and I have a recipe to make my own glyconutrients if you are interested just let me know.
God Bless

I vote for NAET, too. In addition to my own success with it, my mom was diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago but hardly has any trouble with it now (after NAET), unless she really pushes herself too much or lets herself get too stressed out. Besides, if the practitioner you find happens to be an acupuncturist, he can add in traditional acupuncture at no extra cost, which can help you improve more quickly. This was our experience, anyway. (In other words, in addition to the needles he uses on the balancing points for the NAET treatment, he can add in a few other needles to help balance your meridians more, depending on your situation.)

Just wanted to jump in here to say i have suffered from allergies since my teens, and as I age I am having more and more pain all over. In the last two years I have had cervical spine surgery for spinal stenosis and two severely herniated disks, followed by steroid epidural shots. These have helped my back a bit, but I have nerve pain in my hand that is gradually getting worse, and my usual aches & pains elsewhere. I have just started looking into the book Inflammation Nation to try to control some of this with diet. It has some interesting ideas. If you want to look into it here is a link-

http://www.inflammationnation.com/about.htm

As I said, I only just started to research this, so I can't tell you if it works. It's worth a look though.

good book...echoes what dr. perricone & teresa have been discussing for years now.

there may be some useful information in a couple of other modalities: chinese medical model & acupuncture, ayurvedic medicine, osteopathic medicine & possibly, information from jason rubin, celiac.com, naet, eft. with too much to absorb, i think others would agree that doing one thing consistently for a while may work best than doing too many things.

Didn't realize this thread had popped back up. I just read about a supplement that Dr. Mercola recommends that is for Carpal Tunnel and also general inflammation. I may try it when (IF) I get any money. There is also a listing about a group of chiropractors (with some different kind of training I think) and there is one in my area. If you check out his site, they're called CLA chiros...whatever that means...

Gotta have money, though...

Lunamoth,
Can't remember if you've been tested for thyroid. CTS, Fibromyalgia, Hypothyroidism and Vitamin D deficiency links have been mentioned online. In addition, they share a lot of symptoms.

Okay, this bears repeating.....and if I've mentioned this to you, Lunamoth, in the past, please know that my "anesthesia brain" has left me with a swiss cheese memory and I don't recall all the Tappers I have discussed this with. Anyway, as I've stated in the past in various threads, celiac disease disguises itself in many ways. My son and I both experienced CTS and bone/muscle pain until we found out that these symptoms were caused by celiac. As long as we maintain a gluten-free diet, we no longer suffer from these painful conditions. With celiac, you can suffer from no symptoms, one or two symptoms, or an array of symptoms....or you can begin to suffer from one symptom and then other symptoms crop up over time. Please feel free to e-mail me if you would like further information.
