Has anyone ever tried the more "natural" brands of hair colorant sold in Health food stores and Co-ops? They have a green box and look a lot like the usual brands and are around $17.00 a box.

Just wondering and would appreciate the input as I am chemically sensitive and would like to avoid the caustic stuff and henna (too brassy on me).

I believe I learned about Robert Craig hair products from this forum. It is actually good for your hair and is not caustic at all. I only use it on a little bit of gray in my bangs, but that's all I need at this point. It is wonderful hair color and you get at least four uses from a box. You just use what you need.

I use Naturtint which is in a green box. It's sells for about $12-14.99 a box at Whole Foods. I love it. I do my own base color and get highlights at the salon. Which is a good balance for me.

I tried Herbatint for the first time last month and was pleasantly surprised. I liked it. It was gentle to my scalp and didn't stink like the salon stuff. I'll be able to get 2 application since my hair is medium length.

I tried a natural one from Aubrey Organics and didn't like it at all. It went on like mud and my hair texture afterwards was horrible. [xx(] That one made me run back to the harmful stuff!

Naturatint is the one sold at the co-op and it was less than I thought - under $14.00. I was able to get out today and look.

I am glad to know you like it. I think I'll give it a try and I have info coming from Robert Craig (in the snail mail) that I'm looking forward to reading.

Thanks for the info and feedback. I appreciate it everyone.
