View Full Version : Will T-Tapp help cherry angiomas??

Hi,

I've used the T-Tapp brush off and on in the past but I just realized there was a website. :)

I have cherry angiomas popping up all over my body. These look like little red moles but are actually the capillaries or vessels or something breaking through the skin. My dermatologist says it just happens about my age (39) and there is nothing to be done except freeze them off.

Well, I'm currently trying acupuncture, but on another board someone suggested the t-tapp brushing method. I've started doing it more since I read that post, but I'm not doing it consistently every day yet.

My question....has anyone with cherry angioma found that body brushing helps them stop growing, makes them go away or keeps any new ones from forming?

I'm searching everything I know.

Thanks.

Cherry angiomas are made up of clusters of dilated capillaries on the surface of the skin, which accounts for the cherry-red or purple color. No one knows exactly what causes them. Skin brushing exercises not only tightens the skin but, STIMULATES Circulation, INCREASES Cell Renewal, REMOVES Dead Skin Layers. So it couldn't hurt, but be consistent, do it everyday, if not twice a day. The benefits of skin brushing are well worth it. Then check back in and let us know how it is going for you! ;)

I have them as well. They are hereditary and brushing has not made a difference in their appearance. It has helped with other skin issues, so I will continue to brush. My dermatologist said there is a new treatment that is used on Cherry Angiomas and sebaceous cysts. Something to do with a heated needle that goes into the site. Not much of a technical explanation is it? :) As soon as I get the information, I will pass it on. Anxious to get rid of a few of these angiomas myself.

I have them too. One doctor told me they were caused by excess estrogen (estrogen dominance???) I have been doing T-Tapp for 2 months and brushing about a month and I haven't noticed any of mine going away or diminishing. I would think that if they are a hormone imbalance issue then T-Tapp, or anything you do that balances hormones, would prevent them from appearing in the first place.

Mmmm, yes, having the cherry angiomas is frustrating. Well, I'll try brushing anyway for the other benefits. I'm going to an acupuncturist for the cherries. He said it's very possible to get rid of them or to keep them from appearing, but no progress yet. Maybe he's just being optimistic. He said he's only seen them a couple times and it was a long time ago. I've been to see him three times now. This last time, he popped two of them. I don't know why. He just said letting the blood out. I said, oh, blood letting, like leeches? :) I don't think he was too amused.

Anyway, I'm taking some Chinese herbs he's recommended. He also said to not lift weights. I go 2-3 times a week. He said no weights, especially for a woman. He said do natural movement exercises like T'ai Chi or Qigong. Weights aren't natural, he said. So, I don't know. He said the weight lifting causes all the body's energy, the chi, to get globbed up in the muscles and to not circulate.

Ggrice and justkim, do you lift weights too?

The herbs I'm taking also does something to balance a woman's hormones. Hmmm??? We'll see.

And, yes, justkim, any information you can give me about possible treatment for these things is much appreciated. :)

p.s. I told the acupuncturist my dad has them all over (that's what is making me panic) and he doesn't exercise at all. He said, no, you can't be extreme. No exercise here and too much there. So, again, I just don't know.

LJenai,

No, I don't lift weights now. I have in the past. I'm 47 and I can't say when those little pesky things first started appearing on my body. I'd say it was somewhere in my 30's. I will say that over the last few years I don't think I'm getting anymore and the ones I have don't seem to be getting bigger. I went to the dermatologist a few years back and he also said there's not much you can do. I had one rather large one on the side of my breast at that time that bothered me because it rubbed on my bra and he used a laser to burn it off. It got rid of it. The skin was kind of light brown for a long time but it eventually faded and you can barely see it now. I've been told by a doctor at a medical spa that they can be gotten rid of with a laser but I have so many of them I think it would only be realistic to use a laser on the bigger ones. Even then, I think it would probably be pretty pricey. I'd suggest going to a dermatologist that does a lot of cosmetic work and has a laser in their office if you want to check out that route.

Used to lift weights, but not for a year or so. I'm getting good definition with T-Tapp. I have a tendency to bulk up, so I tend to avoid weights. Will keep you posted about the cherry angioma treatment as soon as it's available.

Thanks guys.

I ordered the T-Tapp Total Workout today. If this will keep me firmed up without weights I'll be for it. :) I did a spin class last night and some exercises this morning (Body Flex) instead of my normal weight routine last night.

I saw some laser removal on the internet, but it was pricey. I could live with it if they all stopped growing right now, but my fear is they won't stop growing because they seemed to really come on in the last 4-6 months and have grown noticeably during that period.

Yes, I would appreciate any new cherry angioma news.

Thanks again. :)

My husband successfully ridded his skin of a cherry angioma recently. He applied Shotgun Skin Dressing from Turtle Island Herbs. I think it took a few weeks for it to totally disappear. You can get it at www.mountainroseherbs.com, and probably other places too.

I think that taking a few grams of buffered vitamin C per day (Emergen-C is my fave)along with fish and/or krill oil might help your skin stop making those things. Eating yogurt and kefir is also great if you handle dairy well.

I take Carlson's lemon cod liver oil (not bad tasting, actually) and arctic krill oil. I get compliments on my skin all the time at age 43. The cheapest sources I have found is vitacost.com or iherb.com.

As always, only try what you feel comfortable with, and listen to your body. Everyone is different.

Hi Mermaid,

So your husband just had one of these things? Is he sure that is what it was? If this stuff you talk about will get rid of them, I'm ordering!!! Skin dressing is right. I'll be slathered in the stuff. :)

THANKS for the information!

Yes, it was a cherry angioma, as diagnosed by a doctor friend of mine who saw it (and she had some herself). The really great thing is that the shotgun skin dressing (that we use for pretty much all skin problems)is only about $7. You may want to get two if you use a lot, though.
