I never took before pictures, so I can't submit anything to "show" a difference. I just wanted to offer hope and encouragement to those of you who are a bit impatient about weight and/or inch loss. I started TTapp 11 months ago, one month after the last time I weighed myself. I haven't looked at a scale since I started until today (annual gyn appointment, you understand). I figured there'd be a couple of kilos gone. But, wow. 23lbs. I'll post inches after I take them for the month (next Tuesday). 2 pounds a month is quite healthy for weight loss. Unlike "fast" loss I had before, mostly as a late teen, early 2o-something, this *is* fat and, better still, more likely to be permanent. The habits I've had to address and change will make pretty sure of that. Nothing had worked before TTapp. In fact, our University nutritionist (june 2 years ago) had dismissed my problems, saying the best she could think of was that I needed more fiber and that I needed to be honest with myself about whether I exercised as much as I said I did. Boy, that was disheartening. I had been keeping a painful account of eating in a food diary and exercising 6-7 days a week for months and still kept *gaining* weight. The exercise physiologist (13 months ago) recommended more exercise -- and repeated the nutritionist's doubts about my reported physical activity. Now, having lost more inches total than I have left to reach my goal (wow, that was some odd syntax), if the next ten pounds take 11 more months and the last ten take the following, I'm up for it. The tortoise wins the big race, after all.

Hang in there, my fellow tappers. Don't give up if (and, in my case, when) the major changes don't appear in two weeks or a month or even two. The more you learn how to treat your body better from the inside out, the healthier and longer term the results will be.
