I was over at my parents' house yesterday. Mom has been doing the PBS Pop and the Balance Pop and watching the instructionals.
My brother, who is 35, 6'2, 183 lbs of muscle and an avid (but not fanatic) weight lifter stopped by.
Mom thought it would be amusing to see Tim do the balance routine. He was game and we adjourned to the basement to watch him try it. Although his supporting leg quivered, to our surprise he had no trouble.
Then Mom demanded that he try TTN. It took a couple of replays for him to get the order of movement, but he again completed the set without trouble. (Of course, he hadn't had all his muscles already exhausted by lunges and the like...)
When he finished he reminded us that he has black belts in Tae Kwan Do and (I think) Hopkido (or maybe Aikido.) He said the balance routines were similar to his martial arts exercises, and that Teresa does them the same way his masters did, with the toes pointed up and in. He was impressed. We, who were deprived of what we thought would be a yuk-fest, were also impressed. With him.
