Jane, the WHI studies are all done with synthetic hormones, not the bio-identical. Few studies have been done on the bio-identical.

Besides, we should all be doing OIP and that sure helps!! LOL

I thought most HRT (prescribed by Dr.'s) was synthetic.

Hey Jane,

I think it is fair to say that most hormones prescribed by doctors are synthetic. However, there is a growing movement toward bio-identical hormones. I understand these to be compounds that occur in nature. Generally, they must be prescribed by a doctor and most often are individually compounded for you. My family GP has a line of bio-identical hormones that she uses. I'm still trying the cold-turkey route which has been successful to date. We'll see what the future holds.

I've read some articles that say a fair amount of research has been done on such hormones in Europe but I've yet to see anything that seemed definitive.
