I don't know what to eat anymore. For instance I try to follow GM/MM and cutting out bad carbs period. But I will have sugar, ocassionaly. Well I'm moving towards ocassionaly. :)

Here is my problem. When I eat meat (chicken or beef) with a veggie. I'm still hungry. Even if I eat a salad with it, I'm still hungry. I don't know what else to eat. The same thing happens in the morning. I am a t a loss. I usually do eggs and a bkfast meat, but once again, I'm hungry.

ANy suggestions? TIA

oh and yes I drink my water. When I'm hungry I can drink 3 big classes of water and will still be hungry.

I also need good foods to eat as a snack. SOmetimes I wake up hungry in the middle of the nite or before bed. I like to eat or I will get a migraine when I wake back up. Any suggestions of something that is quick and filling. Especially God Made. I usually go for bread and peanut butter. NOt healthy at all.

Also what is good to eat before working out in the AM?

I also need more food suggestions too. It is to expensive to eat meat everyday. Saladsd are not filling for me at all.

Are grains God Made?

Hi Shanda!

It sounds like you're doing really well! I just wanted to tell you that I try to follow the "Michael Thurmond" diet which is as much a way of eating as what to eat, I use it as a guide really.

Instead of trying to stick to three meals a day, I may have five or six.

Breakfast, I usually have a large bowl of grapefruit, mid morning I have 2oz of chicken, turkey or tuna and a cup of greens (I like celary or mange tout or sugar snap peas, nice and crunchy!)

Lunch I have the same with 2oz of brown rice and I repeat for mid afternoon and then for dinner! I also have either veggies or more fruit in the evening if I'm feeling like I want to pick but this usually only happens if I've been off the plan and have to re-start. I'll feel a little hungry for a couple of days and then I honestly don't feel hungry at all after that, so much so that I don't even always feel like all of my mini meals! It really re-sets my body clock and it might work for you! Also the odd "cheat" doesn't do any harm at all :)

Shanda - Fat!!! You need some fat. That will help bunches. Olive Oil, Flax oil, etc are great for you. Do some research on that. :D

Hi Brenda! They look just like sugar snap peas only they are slightly less crunchy and a little less sweet. Very nice and filling too!

Oh ok, thank you Jackie. This is the first I have ever heard of them. I will try to see if I can find some.

Thanks,
Brenda

I agree! I've been on a high-fat, low-carb diet since December, and have eliminated virtually all sugar and chocolate cravings, hypoglycemia and PMS symptoms. I've even been able to add back small amounts of grain and legumes (like a slice of bread, or 1/2 cup of beans) without any negative symptoms. My main source of carbs are vegetables and some fruits.

If you can do dairy, I'd recommend adding cream and butter to your diet. If not, coconut products and sustainably-harvested palm oil are pretty good.

The dangerous thing with HCLF is that you can end up eating too little, as the fat makes you very full. I only eat a small breakfast (usually a tiny steak slathered in butter and a bowl of salad), a snack at lunch, and a medium-sized dinner, and that's it. I have no desire to eat anything else outside these meals. My idea of "dessert" is a cup of coffee and cream sweetened with stevia after breakfast, an herbal tea and stevia after lunch and dinner, or a small handful of raw, peeled, whole cacao beans. The idea of sweetened chocolate practically makes me ill now. I had a bite of my daughter's cookie today, and had to go spit it out in the trash. Sugar and starch is VILE once you get used to not having them.

One of the wisest things I've read lately was on the Schwarzbein thread...you get healthy to lose weight, you don't lose weight to get healthy. For years I was apparently going at all this bass-ackwards!

I like Schwarzbein's books—could you tell me what the thread is called?

Interesting. Mange tout for Brits is the equivalent of a sugar snap pea. In French, it literally means, "eat everything"!.

Hi. I eat not one but two apples. (Eat fruit alone on an empty stomach 1/2 hour before a meal or 2 hours after a meal for best digestion.)

Beans are another great food that will fill you up. OR how about an entire package of cherry tomatoes, YUM!!!
