The answer???
Maximax 3 followed by SATI!! After resting yesterday I was in the mood for an extreme workout today so I decided this was the one I'd do.
It reminded me so much of a few years back when I used to run 10 miles on Saturdays.
First there was the anticipation as I warmed up with PBS, next I was a little short of breath as I settled into a pace concentrating on my form.
Lunges reminded me of climbing that first long hill and balance was the second steeper hill. Thread the needle was the rough section of the run where the footing made me feel a little wobbly. OK a lot wobbly.
Round about time I got to the second set of hoe downs I was thinking, "Hey this T-Tapp Maxi 3 route has more hills in it than my old 10 mile route had!!!"
You can do it! You can do it! Yes you can! Yes you can! YES <pant pant> YOU <groan tuck> CAN!!!
Finally the standing workout was done. I felt victorious but it was time to turn around and head on home.
Uh oh, the Maxi 3 route has you bring it on home with floor work???!!! Ok deep breath, get centered, find the groove, hold your form. Yes you can. Lot's of groaning going on at that point. Very graphic experience as I struggle to hold my form so I'll spare you all. <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>
Floor work done and I'm a quivering pile of Gelatinous sweat in the middle of my workout area. But I'm almost there and the end of the "run" is fun, it'll leave me feeling refreshed. So I put in the SATI dvd and see Teresa smiling at me.
It's a little tough when she asks me to simultaneously tuck my bottom (thank goodness for MTS) fully extend my legs with each step, walk without my big toe, hold my shoulders over my hips while contracting my lats and move my arms keeping shoulder to elbow alignment. Well maybe it's a little more than a little hard but it's supposed to be a challenge right?
I'm sweating, she's smiling. I bet I can sweat and smile at the same time if I try. So I try and it works. Yippeeeeeeeee! It's the home stretch. We're almost there. Heeee Haw! She's slowing down now. I can do it! I can do it! I can do it! I did it!
YES!I did!
Off the the bathroom to brush and soak in a lavender scented bath. Close my eyes and relax and realize that unlike my old runs and despite the fact that I worked to my max - DUH Lannette that's why it's called a Maxi max! - I feel relaxed and balanced and very pleased with myself in general. Yes siree bob, this is definitely a virtual run I'll do again.
