Some of you know that after the T-Tapp retreat I joined a group of close female friends for another retreat at an exercise facility.
I've known these gals for ages and they are supportive of my T-Tapp lifestyle even if they don't totally understand it. They were comfortable with the idea of me T-Tapping in the hotel room and walking around town in weighted shoes and taking or not taking any regular classes as my comfort level allowed. Like I said, these are very cool friends.
Despite their support and the fact that I know I'm in good T-Tapp shape I have to admit that I had second thoughts on how I would manage to take traditional exercise classes when it's been so long since I've done some of the planned activities.
Would I be able to keep up during complicated step aerobic choreography?
Would I get out of breath or develop a set of dead legs during high impact aerobics?
I don't lift weights so would I be able to do lunges, box climbs and upper body movments with good form and T-Tapp linear alignment?
Would the fact that I don't do this kind of movment leave me so sore that I'd have to quit early?
I am happy to report that my consistent T-Tapping and MetaTreking prepared me well.
The left/right brain work in T-Tapp left me sharp enough to easily follow the most complicated step work and get on the right foot if I happened to goof up.
T-Tapp balance along with my weighted walks left me jump, jack and spin with the best of them. No tired legs and no huffing and puffing. (One person remarked that my basketball playing son must have gotten his jumping ability from me. I remarked that we both get our jumping ability from T-Tapp!)
I was able to use isometric contraction and linear alignment and balance concepts to get a great workout using only two light plastic sticks while everyone else used heavy weights.
Thanks to liberal doses of alfalfa and cell food I didn't get very sore and a weighted walk and/or a T-Tapp workout each day put me back into alignment and got rid of any lingering tightness. PBS and brushing each morning left me ready for anything that might come my way. Liberal doses of chocolate didn't hurt either.
I'm sharing this because both T-Tapp and MetaTreks walks are so time efficient that it's easy to believe that they can't possibly be enough. But I'm here to tell you that less really is more and this experience has convinced me of this more than ever.
So if you ever get that nagging thought in your head (or a nagging friend) telling you that T-Tapp and weighted walking can't possibly be enough to get and keep you in good shape remember that:
Yes they are! AND
Tes you can!! AND
I'm living proof of it!
