Just wanted to post and whine. I havent been away because of spending hours gazing into my sweet newborn's eyes... we have been without power since last Thursday morning about 3 am! So much for relaxing and sleeping the day away with my new baby, right? Grrrr.
The first two nights, we stayed with our across the street neighbors who had a generator and a woodstove. It was still freezing comparitively, but better than our 40 degree house with no fireplace or woodstove. Night before last, some church friends invited us to stay with them after their power was restored, so this is our second night here. Ive been trying to keep Grace entertained during the day and trying to keep her out of everyone's hair, so I decided tomorow we will just lay low and veg out. I am really tired.
Please keep us in your prayers. I know there are others around the Raleigh area that are worse off than we are, but not even being 2 weeks post partum, its particuarly stressful to be in survival mode. Thankfully, Lily sleeps like an angel. Im sure its God's doing that she has been sleeping 3-4 hour stretches at night during this ordeal, because I wouldnt be able to function on less sleep than Im getting.
sorry to whine, just wanted to come somewhere and tell people what's going on with us. MommyMer lives here too, and her power has been restored. :)
I sure do miss posting, cant wait to get home and have computer access and my warm bed and my own stuff again! :) It IS fun getting to know friends better by staying with them, but 4 days is enough!
Gonna do a mini workout again tonight. PBS, OIP/HF, TTAPP Twist, and Hoe Downs. Gotta keep that lymph flowing and that immunity up.. communal living means sharing germs too.
Will check in again tomorrow night if I get a chance.
