March 2001 I went to a new rheumatologist who did a bone density scan on me. I was shocked to find I had osteoporosis in my hips. I am 53, not frail and I took calcium supplements so thought I was protected.I recently had another bone density scan and my bones are normal much to the surprise of my doctor. After I told her about all of the changes I had made in my life, she asked one question, "What kind of exercise are you doing?" I did the following things:
Started taking Fosamax but quit after 2 months due to being sick one day a week and reading bad things about it
Started tapping August 2001
Quit drinking carbonated beverages
Quit caffeine
Started taking Nerve and Osteo Support
Eliminated sugar and wheat from my diet
Quit HRT
Used progesterone cream for about 2 months then kept forgetting to start back after the layoff period each month
Which of these things did it? Probably a combination but I am not about to change anything right now. Dr. felt the exercise was the most important. I am thrilled with my report and will continue my new way of life.
I would also like to encourage everyone around menapause age to get a bone density scan. If I hadn't done so until I was much older I could have had major problems like a broken hip before I was aware of the problem.
Wanted to share my good news as a result of tapping.
