I have a friend that swears by this(see just started) I just saw the infomercial for myself and really thought it wasn't nice.

It is not that easy to lose tons of weight!

Has anyone else seen this infomercial??

The infomercial is incredibly misleading. It states that you eat more and exercise less...you are required to eat around 1200 calories and exercise 1 hr. 5 times per week at your target fat burning heart rate plus do the toning exercises 20 min 3 times per week. I went to the wesite and researched the program on the message boards when I saw the infomercial one day.

I just checked out his website and it is misleading. It makes no mention of the hour per day of cardio, only the 15-18 minute toning twice per week.

This program sounds very similar to David Kirsch's New York Body Plan, which is what he calls a 14 day bootcamp that he created when he did the Extreme Makeover shows. I followed it to the tee, including the fat-free, carb-free, salt and sugar-free diet. I either did 60 or 90 minutes of pure cardio everyday and 45 minutes of toning every other day. LOST ZERO WEIGHT. SAW ZERO RESULTS.

I'll stick with ttapp and the God-made food plan. Makes so much more sense and alot easier.

I know someone who did this and lost over 100 pounds within a year's time. After the got past the first couple weeks, she didn't seem hungry, either. She looked wonderful and did not make a huge effort to exercise.
I know someone else who lost her final 20 using this plan. She did exercise-mostly organized sports or aerobic type stuff, I think.

I was so impressed I took a look at the program and decided quickly it was not for me. The calories really are low, and the lack of fat and sodium were a concern for me. I use and believe in celtic sea salt as a healthy form, and was not willing to switch to such bland foods. Like Miesta, I have low blood pressure.

I do know one other person who gave this plan a whirl, she lost about 25 pounds and did lower her blood pressure.

The flip side of my first friend's story is that she had to pre-plan and tote her food wherever she went. She was basically a slave to the clock as far as when to eat, and what she could eat was extremely limited. And couldn't participate in family meals unless she made everyone else eat what she had. Then she got pregnant, couldn't eat according to plan and gained a lot of weight back.

The other friend doesn't stick to it, either. She uses it every few months when she wants to drop the 10 pounds or so that keep creeping back.

Basically, the plan is

Measured portions,(approximately 3 oz protein with a serving of carbs) eaten every 2.5-3 hours
Limited starches
Little to no dairy
Eliminate added salt
Eliminate added sugar
Eat a few extra carbs when exercising
Overall low calories 1200-1400 depending on cuts of meat chosen.

:DThere. You get the program for free!

Me, DD, & SIL all lost a lot of weight on this diet 5 years ago and we all messed up our metablolism with it. None of us have been successful on any diet since. No matter how much we try we have a very hard time losing weight. SIL is heavier now than she had ever been. I became a slave to the clock and have not been able to break the habit of eating every 2-2 1/2 hrs.

My answer to you is to stay away from it.

I suggest the Eat Right for your Blood Type approach. It's really working for my family and everything that we've tested allergic for is a no-no for our particular blood types. There is something to it and it is balanced and works so well with the GM/MM program of Teresa's.

If anyone is doing ER4YT, I would love for you to drop in to the thread and share! http://forum.t-tapp.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=53225

I started dabbling in it myself this past week, and can't report any 'true' weight loss yet, but after one day of eating according to the benefical food lists, I dropped 4 pounds worth of weekend-binge induced water retention. Wish I hadn't let go during the weekend, too, because I had been eating according to the plan for about 5 days and felt pretty good--no raging cravings, and my digestive troubles seemed to lessen after just the first couple of days--

Well, it is a learning process after all....And even though there are some foods that should be 'avoided', there are lots of foods that are classed as benefical and neutral that leave plenty of variety. And, unlike Micheal T.'s plan, it is something I can see myself sticking with for an extended period of time. Especially if I can include T's GM/MM guidelines so I can still plan to eat 'other' foods a few times a week.
